The strongest year since 2005?
I think the standard this year is so high, and is the highest it has been since series 2. There is no separating the girls at all, all three are equally great singers, then theres Ruth and Rachel, love them or hate them you can't deny their talent. Then throw into the mix Austin and JLS. We have some very strong contenders this year, the final 12 in series 6 have a lot to live up to.

Absolutely. The overall talent has been on a general decline since the second series so it's great to see it shoot back up again this year.

The only "non contenders" IMO are the two girl groups and Danny. Possibly Scott.
However, it all depends on the live shows. For all we know Alex could do horrible and some-one like Danny could become a favourite.

Definitely.
JLS BadLashes Ruth Rachel Alexandra Diana Laura Austin are all really good. There hasn't been so much depth since 2005. |

The overall talent is remarkable and I'd agree we haven't had a series this strong with 2005. I just love the variety we have this year and found that very appealing in the second series.
Here's hoping Cheryl 'does a Sharon' and rightfully dominates the competition with her talented trio.

Series 2 has been my all time favourite series. Good casting and good personalities, imo.
Series 5 has got the casting nearly right. The problem is, with me, you just get that main X Factor from the girls this year. There isn't as much variety as Series 2, in the sense that in each catergory, there is one that I really like, whilst in 2005, I liked all or most acts, when it came down to talent and not personal preference. But yes, it is the best group we've had in years. |

Take Leona out and you're left with a similar standard to last year.
