As a Flavia fan, it's not often I say this, but I didn't like it that much. Like most others, I didn't feel any emotional connection between Vincent and Flavia (maybe Matt being there didn't help matters), and there was not enough dancing and too many lifts/gymnastics for my liking. I much preferred Anton and Erin's dance to Andrea Bocelli.

Lovely dance by the way (Loved Anon & Erin's too).”

Said exactly the same myself at the time! Clearly we are in the minority though

I also preferred Anton/Erin... Flavia/Vincent was too disjointed to fully enjoy, and her dress was a tad vile.

Yes I agree they are amazing - even though I didn't appreciate this routine fully I can still appreciate the beauty and grace of most of it.

Agree with all those, beautiful, graceful... all the usual adjectives... but I must admit to thinking out loud in Craig's style....

"Im not sure where a backward roll comes into the ....[insert word.... foxtrot/rumba/showdance]...."

at the end when they were on the floor... and doing the BW roll bit....

The thing is that people expect so much of them, so it must be hard to think of new routines that will 'hit the spot'.

I think so! To me Flavia looked really uncomfortable at the end when they embraced.

Hi Old Lady,

I agree, Vincent held the finishing hold just a tad longer than was necessary for the benefit of Matt I would assume(the little minx) causing Flavia to feel uncomfortable.

I'd need to watch again to see the end - but I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happened and for the benefit of Matt. I did wonder whether that might cross a certain someones mind and I speculated on it on one of the threads. Mind you I crouched it in such vague terminology as not to offend any lurkers I think its meaning got lost.

Sorry everybody, I did say it with tongue in cheek, (and it is only my point of view) not wanting to cause a row

Flav really glances away as he held her close. I wonder if she was looking in Matt's direction or trying to avoid eye contact.....

This leads me to think that the wavwe WAS for matt. She DEF waved in his direction. This could have been innocuous (poss hadnt seen him for several hours as the audience and performers would be split up for the day), or more deliberate (reassuring). Its poss we are over analysing it.

I dont think Flav should get too bothered tbh- even if Vincent WAS stirring. Its ACTING ffs!! As I said earlier- no different that watching matt acting romantically with someone else as part of a performance.

I actually think that Flav is quite a good actress. But her avoidance of Vincent was a bit blindingly obvious IMO...

Don't forget I hold the worry baton and the huge FLUFFING sword - but I'd probably run away and hide in pink fluffy cloud land.

I dont think theres anything to worry about tbh.

If Vincent was stirring then it will just be interpreted as that (not that the jurys out on that opinion anyway..)

Flav may have to watch matt doing that sorta thing in the future, so its all swings and roundabouts in the entertainment industry....

ETA: Wouldnt be surprised if this dance is referred to in the press this week.....

Hey - I'm not worrying. I know the truth of the situation - the only complaint I've got is wish others could see it, but I know they don't necessarily know what I/we know so................

Anyway we've hijacked this thread so back on topic I still think V and F dance beautifully together. I actually liked the first half of the dance - when it seemed more like a dance - it was just the last little bit I didn't. Blimey isn't Flavia supple though - bet a certain someone likes that!

It was a showdance, therefore anything goes.

I found the show dance exceptionally accomplished - those moves require great skill and can so easily go wrong.

I admire their style and talent and bravery on national TV - the camera zooms in without mercy and Vincent &Flavia never fail to deliver complex choreography perfectly and with deceptive ‘ease’.

I believe that it is this modern interpretation of dancing that has won so many new fans for ballroom dancing.

Yeah I agree that move was physically impressive but actually quite ugly to look at and very "unmusical" if that makes sense....it expressed physical skill but not much more......

If I compare it to the tricksy move/pose that Kristina and Brian excuted in the rumba - ie. Kristina in splits, then pulled up from the foot, onto one leg standing position - which manged to demonstrate physical strength/ control etc but felt completely in tune with the general flow of the dance.

I really love Vincent and Flavia. They are great talented dancers but for me in some of their more recent choreography it's as if they're trying "just a bit too hard" .

Almost like complexity for the sake of it. Some of the connection to the music is lost imo. Big tricks showcased over a subtlety of movement which was what I loved initially in their dancing. I sometimes feel like Flavia is always bending as far back as she can etc...pushing to the limits whether the move really needs it or not....when sometimes a restraint and a withholding of energy would be more expressive....things starts to look too acrobatic rather than dance.

Hmm...but maybe it's just a taste thing ...as I first started to think this last year when they did their Argentine tango demo.
