Has a new update fixed the light? because mine is very dim now or do I need a new bulb?

Yes, there has been a software update which modifies the behaviour of the LED for the Set Top Boxes, this is an attempt to compensate for any differences in models, especially where the LED may appear to be too bright, although some (probably older models) may find the light appearing too dim under some conditions.

Thanks for the post, the low level light is very relaxing on the eyes.

How can you tell if you have an older box?

Is there going to be some improvement in the software usability, if so when?

There are many niggles with the the T+ box. For instance, navigating to the most recent recording - the page up button doesn't move to it, moving one line at a time with the sluggish response means you overshoot and end at the bottom of the page.

There is a constant program of development in this area, I'm not privy to what and when but we release frequent updates to improve the user experience.
