Downloading and streaming are working fine on my Nokia N95 8Gb with the 30.0.18 firmware
CORRECTION. It downloaded ok, but came up with an error saying content not support. Streaming is ok tho. |

Not for all N series (although there is a hack to edit one of the files to allow you to get it working on all of them). Only over Wifi too, which is probably good to ensure that the 3G network is not full of iplayer downloads

Did anyone happen to download the 1.0 version? (the above link is now 1.5) you will see beta 1.0 when you load up the iPlayer, if you do any chance you could upload it. The 1.0 is more compatible with other devices than the N95/6.

Can's seem to get the WGZ file to work - if I double click on it, it says it needs to connect to the internet to find out what to do with it, unregognised in Nokia OVI suite (N95 I am using)

thanks sirius for the file, unfortunately doesnt work either.
to Russ you need to tranfer the wgx file to your phone and open it on your phone, its not as PC application. |

Another way (pain in the ass I know) is to visit the link directly on the phone & download it as it will then auto install, that's how I got it installed the 1st time around. I found that nokia pc suite failed to install it same for nokia ovi suite.

Can anyone please help me get the BBC iplayer app to work on my N81 8GB. My phone doesn’t seem to recognise the file type, I think that is the problem but it maybe something else I’m not too sure, Thanks.

The downloading service doesn't work with anything below an N96 because only the N96 has DRM support.
I doubt Nokia will add it retrospectively to the N95, and indeed I think it might even be a chipset issue. This is the reason it says this isn't intended for an N95... It would appear that streaming working over 3G only works on certain providers because the others block it - O2 is blocking it just as they do on the iPhone, as are Vodaphone and T-Mobile it would appear. Do you have firmware 21.0.016 or above? if not then that's the problem, 1st file was zipped 2nd one was the raw wgz file so the 2nd file shouldn't have had any problems.
