I think they will give her a bit more input, I can't imagine Cheryl listening to all of the songs that Diana likes singing and is good at so they will probaly ask her.

Just been listening to my ipod whilst working and have realised that Laura sounds very similar to both Adele and Christina, especially Adele...quite uncanny actually.

Rachel sound's bit like Duffy and I reckon Diana could sing anything by Razorlight, Coldplay or Snow Patrol!!

Excuse the ramblings just my thoughts for what they are worth!

I bet Daniel will get something like Everything I Do... by Bryan Adams

A nice ranging theme for the first week. It will be interesting to see who will be singing what.

Some (Fairly random) Suggestions:

Laura - "These Words" Natasha Beddingfield (no amy, no duffy, no adele!)
Diana - "Don't Speak" No Doubt or "Everytime" Britney Spears (very pop, but it is #1's)
Alexandra - "Fallin" by Alicia Keys

Rachel - "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2 (OK, a bit unusual!)
Danny - "The Rose" by Westlife
Ruth - "Unbreak My Heart" by Toni Braxton or "Hips Don't Lie" or "Beautiful Liar" by Shakira

Austin - "Leave Right Now" by Will Young

JLS - "Ghetto Gospel" by Elton John and Tupac
BadLashes - "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz
Girlband - "Round, Round" by Sugababes

I bet Simon makes Eoghan do effing Unchained Melody

And Daniel could well do The Wind Beneath My Wings for his late wife, in case we forgot that she died

I do have sympathy for Daniel though, he's just very average, OK voice but he says "pub singer" to me

Could something like this be a choice one week? Don't know if it was ever No 1 or not though...
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OutBYPMWGBE

Such a sad, sad lyric - so simple, yet so perfect

Theres an English version too, does Ruth only sing in Spanish?
Problem is no one could ever hold a candle to either Francoise Hardy or Judith Durham.

The Rose was originally recorded by Bette Midler - Westlife are just one of many to cover it.

Without You, Lady Marmalade and Mercy are almost certain to be sang.

Yeah, I know... it's a Westlife song, so of course it is a cover!

But as it is number ones week, I put the Westlife version because I can't remember if got to number one before.

Laura - "Black Velvet" (#1 UK and US 1990)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut09zkRoG0g (original by Alannah Miles)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-JYx...eature=related (live version by Delta Goodrem)

It would be a risk and somewhat unexpected, but potentially great and put some distance between her and Amy Winehouse which she desperately needs to do.

Very good suggestions on here.
I like the fact that the theme is , somewhat, quite general.

I wish they did the same throughout and picked some 'unsung' songs for this season.

Hey I can but hope.

I'd love to see that! But I wonder if it might be deemed a bit too risque to have 4 young girls prancing around singing that at 7pm to millions of families...
