I cannot bear Austin. He's got no charisma, no likeability and nothing about him that makes me want him to do well. The tears drive me to distraction too. I would have preferred Alan to have gone through.

Ok, I take your point about not liking Austin, but saying the tears were a problem and wanting Alan to go through? I think Austin was the better of the 2. Has much more charisma than Alan, can generally keep in tune. I personally don't really like that forced style of singing and get the "likeability"(or lack there of) factor. But I still think he's better than Alan.

Alan had much more to cry about - he was accused of being a liar in the national press and it could have jeopardised his chances of going through. He knew people would think mud sticks and believe what they read.

Austin had nothing to cry about other than wanting to go through. He has ZERO charisma in my opinion, whereas Alan is very likeable.

I do not agree about Dannii having the weakest. Ruth and Rachel are strong singers.

Have to disagree some what. The bands are the worse. They will all be out by the time it reaches last 5.

completely agree, apart from austin his category sucks. Then its louis.

His category does look pretty weak. I think he's relying on Eoghan to cultivate the "Aw, isn't he so cute" vote, but if posts on here are anything to go by it looks like he might be struggling.

I don't think the groups are up to much either (but they seldom are), nor do I think Ruth and Daniel from the over-25s are much better than merely competent.

Only the girls category can claim to have three strong contenders.

Its about par for the coure. The X factor tends to attract competent but average singers.

Simon does not really care. He will get a couple of hits out of whoever wins before they disapear back to obscurity. Then next year he will churn another one out

How many Xfactor winners can people rember , not that many I suspect and as for second & third even less.

I think people are underestimating the groups this year. I personally think Louis and Cheryl are the ones with any chance of winning.

In your opinion

Austin is actually one of the best vocals in the competition, this year.

Where did I say Austin wasn't a good singer? He's very good. But he's unlikeable, and that's something I happened to realise just by looking at this forum.

I do think Simon has the weakest group this year, in terms of singing talent. Austin is the only decent singer out of the whole of the boy category I think...

Louis' category of the groups will be one to watch I think .. JLS and Bad Lashes I can see progressing through the competition

Dannii has Rachel and Ruth who are both strong vocally, with Daniel being the only act to let her group down in my opinion.

Cheryl has the best category in my view and I think she will be the last judge to keep her final 3.

I think the groups are the weakest, since Rachel, Austin and the girls are all strong, IMO. However, it's not the worst year for the groups though.

Never consider posts on here to be all that accurate in determining whether an act is popular with the teens - Bebo is much more accurate when judging the teen vote.
Last year Leon had over 10k worth of members, he was by far the most popular contestant and won virtually every poll.

As I said in another thread I preferred the 3 that Simon rejected but what do I know?!

Having said that I think Danni's group are the worst.

I wonder if they deliberately put through some mediocre people so that they can get rejected in the first weeks because if they put through 12 really good acts they risk losing their "chosen" winner early on.....

Yhe he definatly has the waeaker lot, no stand out person.

Off topic but where are all the live shows held? and where do all the people live up until it finishes?

I can't stand Austin, I am sure he is a nice guy, but I just don't like him, his tears drive me mad! plus he is very sure and full of himself, there are far better singers there then him, but you just know they will leave before him because Austin has the little girls vote/the teenage girls votes/the gay vote and probably the mums vote lol. The same goes for Eoghan, though at least he has a personality, Austin doesn't.

If Diana/Alex/Rachel or Laura go out before him, I will be so peed off.

The live shows are at Fountain Studios

Not sure where they live but the house looks like the same one they used last year.

I did. Granted, I didn't see Rhydian being one of them.
