If you don't like it then don't watch it, why start a thread to just moan about it? Although I have to admit the new Sunday show it a bit annoying the way it is so padded out- how many seconds does it take to say Gary and Karen, you're out, and yet they take 50 minutes to say it.

I don't see any great change in the Saturday show, personally. I enjoyed the Sunday show last year very much, but so far this year it does seem unnecessarily padded, particularly doing the group dance again every week. I wouldn't have missed Anton and Erin's show dance last night for anything, loved it, loved it. But the dance where all the pros dance together just has too many people dancing, if that makes sense. Surely it could be half one week half the next? Or at least not have the pros who are also dancing on their own in that show?

I think the series will be even better once everyone is dancing together, but I'm loving this series as much as I always do (I always mute Bruce introducing the next dancer and the judges always annoy me, but as long as I like the celebs that makes it for me and I think this year we've a really lovely group).

Agree with what I've highlighted here. Everyone seems pretty nice and jokey.. but I have a bad feeling about SCD this year. The BBC are neglecting the fans (even casual watchers, really) with the continuance of the sunday results show. I myself didn't mind the sunday results last year but this year it feels so long and drawn out.

I also think people who say 'If you don't like it, don't bother watching the show' are missing the point of discussion. This is SCD after all, we all have strong opinions and they may differ!

I love the Sunday show. It marred the enjoyment of a Saturday when someone had to leave. And now we get SCD everyday.

I agree however that it's un-necessary to repeat the group dance.

Probably because there would not be much of a show otherwise (and that goes for having the same Results show on a Saturday of course). There also needs to be an assumption that there might be some who did not catch the Saturday show and would therefore value a recap of sorts.

I'm sure that at least one of the group dances last year was repeated on the Sunday?

I dont care how many years he's been in the business, Bruce is awful well not necessarily him- his 'jokes'. No other presenter would get away with it, he's not funny, not professional, rude and a grumpy old t**t in real life.

Other than that and the judges voting the watchable dancers out each week and Bruno Tonioli generally, I'm thrilled with the show.

I am having a hard time getting into SCD this year. I don't know why. I think that maybe it's because I don't like/know all the celebs and they seem to be dragging it out til everyone dances.

The Sunday night show is now sooooo padded that it is getting on my nerves.

I get the feeling that the pros don't have their hearts in it this year.

I will stick with it as up to now I've been a big fan.

I really think that the blokes-one-week-bints-one-week thing is a serious mistake; it's bearable for two weeks, but not for four - why should we have to wait until show FIVE until we get to see everyone dance on one night?

I stopped watching XF about 3 years ago - andallthatjazz maybe you've reached that point with SCD - just switch over or off.

I agree about the camera work - it has always been dreadful so nothing new there - it is just the same on DWTS - which is okay, but not a patch on SCD - like everything American it is typically over the top with its glitz and glamour - talk about an explosion of fake boobs

I'm still loving SCD.

Four years ago I would have agreed with you but no longer.

XF is now a joke. Its contrived and fake and staged. I am sick of this behaviour from XF fans. Cannot accept criticism of the show and come in here slating its rival. Very childish imo.

I agree. They should stick to 12 couples and have each couple perform a Ballroom and a Latin dance before anybody is voted off.

I am really enjoying it and already we have a rivalry (Austin and Tom) great stuff to entertain.

My daughter hates it though but mostly because of Brucie's awful jokes (well they are but it wouldn't be the same without him).

It (and X Factor) have made my Saturday evenings.”

I have to disagree re the rivalry between Austin & Tom. It is so fake, and it disrespects all the other competitors.

The sunday show is too long and is full of padding. I still can't get over thw fact that the girls group dance was done again. Bearing in mind that it was recorded on Saturday, the live audience had to watch it twice. Could they not have got a winner from a previous show, to do their best dance?

- the camerawork being so insane that even I'm beginning to be annoyed by it (I've noticed it before, but its never bugged me)

- sixteen couples = four weeks before we have a 'normal' show; if the BBC really want to make the long as long as possible, then they should have a maximum of twelve couples with no eliminations until the third week = the same duration as SCD 2007

(there are minor things like the occasional horrible costume and Bruce being sometimes useless and Tess being always useless and the singers sometimes sounding like strangled cats, but these were always thus)”

Agree with all this.

Strictly is just so much better- it has fans of all ages, whereas X Factor tends to be just young people, and it's so much classier.

Agree with this. I think no eliminations would be great. It would give people time to settle down and learn a few dances. I always feel very sorry for the first couple to go out (even if I don't like them!). I think Bruce is always useless.

I agree with this. In the earlier series the XF celebrated the older singers with people like Steve, Andy, Rowetta, Maria, Ben etc. But now its all about the younger ones and the over 25's are now treated with such disdain by the judges. So much so that no one wants their category anymore. Its almost like anyone over 25 is past it. I much prefered Pop Idol to XF.

I know Bruce said the girls performed their dance again but does anyone else think the BBC just ran Saturdays VT again?

I noticed it with the boys dance last week, John Sergeant had exactly the same facial expressions during 'both' routines.

Your thoughts please.

I didn't actually watch it, but I have read other posts, where it has bee said that Jodie was better second time around, but I don't know if that was true

Always record the 'Sunday' show and so can FF through all the nonsense - it's the results I want!
Last Sunday was awful with that Andrea Bocelli. I am sure he is a nice bloke and am sorry he is blind but that singing voice of his is dire.

Why the programme can't be shorter by, say, 50% and show it later on Saturday night.

It didn't look like they played the same vt as heather got her hand movements right on the second go and you can clearly see she is out of sync the first time they do the routine.

That's a sensible choice open to all, those that want the results get them quickly, those that want the recaps get those as well.

I disagree - he has a great voice (well, great to me, I'm not a music teacher or anything).

You mean, like it was before? It didn't get anywhere near as many viewers (the Sunday show is a big ratings winner) and it meant that some younger viewers were already in bed or others had gone out for the night. The Sunday show also fills a rather awkward hole in the Sunday schedule, one that has beeen rather problematic to fill.

I thought that it was rougher the second time and there were a couple of places (just a couple) that Cherie and Heather look less polished than I remembered the first time. But dances are different the second time you see them, so I wouldn't swear to it.

Actually now I come to think of it, the group dance on Saturday and the one on Sunday did look suspiciously similar...

Maybe because it was the same routine danced by the same people with the same partners and the same choreography in the same studio?
