What has Rachel done that is so bad?
i am flabborgasted at the amount of negativity about rachel on this forum ive had enough already. this is becoming a real vile place this DS malarky.
it seems we are now putting image and personality ahead of the best voice and being a star. rachel has a voice and the personality but people are letting her past dictate on how they see her. if u forget bout her past for one minute and just watch her cant u see shes special? shes got an edge which is really interesting. perhaps people should try and get to know her instead of writing her off even before the 1st live show. if this story wasnt printed people would still be on about how her attitude is so bad (it aint people) you arent gettin to know her you are just going on and on and on about her past which is wrong and ive never seen such judgemental views. it seems that noone has ever had drugs or smoked a cigerette or spoke back to someone or had an argument with someone it really is becoming a joke. no wonder the country is going to pot. i just feel like people are becoming obsessed with blaming why they dislike her on her past its really starting to P me off. |

Nothing. She's just a hate figure.
I think generally there is an expectation of a pantomime villain on these shows and people pick one. Mine is Alexandera. |

Respected? Why? Sure she got over drugs, but SHE started it in the first place. Nothing to be respected for at all.

I'm not perfect but I don't see how she should be respected because she stopped taking drugs? She done it to herself. Doctors should be respected. Nurses and surgeons should be respected. Teachers should be respected, but Rachel Hylton is not on top of any list to be demanded respect.

To be honest there does seem to be an awful lot of dislike for her and the best people can come up with is her past.
But I fail to see why her past should be an issue. She has moved away from all that now and is trying to make a go off her life. I suppose it's too much to ask for people to wait until Saturday to see how she gets on. She might win everyone over for all we know and be the best of the night yet. Louis has actually said he thinks she will win. |

Really?
I thought that we who dislike her were in a minority round here! Oh well, what will be will be. Leon last years public voted winner who doesn't have much support on here so that alone tells me this place is slightly out of touch with the voters at home. |

Rachel has done a hell of lot after going through what people go through but more so than others. I think she does deserve respect. I would look up to her rather than a lot of the other contestants this year. |

Well, forgetting her words and having a bit of an attitude is abit of a bother, don't you think? I don't think she actually has a really, really good voice. Yes, she can sing, and hold a tune but I think there were/are more talented people on the show.

The media response on him winning and one other forums on the internet too showed him the most disliked. Up to this day, nobody knows how he won but he did. The faces on This Morning when his name were mentioned weren't of expectation or awe - let's put it that way.
But I do believe DS is being too hard on Rachel. How she will fair in the vote I don't know. I guess we will see on Saturday but she could surprise us all. Like Rhydian did. But I think she does have a hard task ahead of her. Probably the hardest out of the lot but I believe Dannii is the woman for the job. |

where did she forget the words at bootcamp then? i think she forgot the lyrics once - dannii's house. she told the pianoist he was going to fast on chasing cars, thats different to forgetting lyrics

I just find it deplorable that she think's life is like a plastic cup to be used and then disposed off. Rachel needs to learn that her children aren't objects to be exploited and then cast away when they've serverd their purpose to her.

First impressions are not the way to judge people. I think I was brought up to respect people regardless and I'm pleased I am this way if it means I don't have such shallow views. |

![]() I'm sure she did. I didn't think the pianist was going too fast, it is a slow song. She didn't sing it in tune, I couldn't recognise the song, and it is a very familiar song. I just don't think she is THAT good. I'm not talking about her past, I'm talking about her talent. Yes she can sing, but she's not really that good. |

amazing grace was a very polished performance (IMO) chasin cars each to their own i thought it was quite good. the only one she really has struggled with was beautiful but only towards the end where she got the lyrics but that can happen to anyone so why single her out?
