My reason for still watching it is because I find it funny - especially the early rounds that appear to be full of deluded individuals with no descernable talent wailing and screeching with voices sounding like a cat being turned inside out. It may be the same old stuff every year but there is the occasional gem like Ant and Seb.
The bootcamp, like most of the show, is carefully edited of course. The contestents get more desperate and come out with utter tosh such as this is my dream, world, destiny, everthing, life will end if I do not get through etc and then proceed to blub & blub some more. All good fun
Is it just me or is there a greater emphasis on sob stories this series as well as more people crying? This year I believe there is someone whose wife died and another whose Mother died or something. Lets not forget the reformed junkie ex-jailbird with 3 kids in care who turned her life around. An especially good selling point for her. One of the young men, Austin I think, is particularly wussy and cries at the drop of a hat. As far a I know a close relative of his has not died or currently got a life threatening disease. The greater the sob story - the great chance of getting through?
What ever the reason people watch the X Factor for is entirely their affair and I would not question it. Whether or not any of the final 12 has actually got any talent does not really interest me. If anyone does enjoy the music it provides then great - what ever blows your hair back.
If you do like the X Factor then watch something else. No one is forced to watch it.
