not sure wether if sky control the line rental that you can go through another b/band provider.
to be honest for the sake of 50P probably best to leave your line rental with bt as they are th only provider "forced" by ofcom to allow access by other CP's.

yeah i know it is only 50p differnece, but sky have offered me a half price line rental discount! Is anyone aware of whether i can change to other bb providers while having skys line rental? i would have thought that would be against competition rules being forced to only have skt bb.

With Sky line rental you are then stuck with them for their Sky high non-inclusive call prices.

No using 1280 to put calls back over BT for the cheaper calls or using 18185 for cheaper calls.

Line rental should really remain with BT.

You have the hassle of then paying to get the line moved again when you find Sky not to your liking.

hmm. my plan was to change my line rental to sky, taking advantage of the 6 month half price offer, then add on a £5 per month unlimited call plan with my broadband package..(i do find skys customer service quite good, up to now anyway!)
however i dont want to trap myself with skys landline and broadband permanatly! surly with local loop unbunding etc it would be stupid to let sky limit your choices in bb provider? if this is the case then the whole idea of LLU is turned on its head, as we now would have a situation where instead of a large BT monopoly we have smaller splintered monoplies. stick with BT!!!
