Why did the programme try yet again to put people together and form a new band ?

Those boys were truely hopeless and it is nigh impossible to shove strangers together and hope they are going to be good enough. In the days of Pop Idol, groups like Girls Aloud were put together over an entire series of voting.

This is the second year i remember they tried to form a band from individuals, it were the girls last year. Do they just think shove 4 good looking guys together and we will be loved by the public ? To me it is insult to those bands who have been together a while and get knocked off by these guys who were quite frankly useless and only put through to the final 6 because they were the creation of Louis and Simon.......

What do others think about this happening each year ?

It was even worse last year as the only band that actually auditioned and got through was Same Difference, both Hope and Futureproof having been cobbled together by the producers from rejected soloists.

those boys this year might have had something if they had bothered to get together and put the time in, but the statements of work commitments ect showed they didnt really want it bad enough. Of course its a big thing to give up your job to chase a dream when theres bills to pay but at least one of the solo talents has done it with no gaurentee he'll win even tho hes made the final 12. I got the feeling this years manufactured band didnt really want to be a band and werent overly affected when louis told them no.

One of them even said he didnt feel that bad after getting no. I really think JLS at 11-1 can be the first group to win this year however. Groups are normally not upto much as you just mentioned but these guys are something special. I would not rule a group out winning this year and reckon they will be at that final for sure. For me definitely worth a bit of money at 11-1, too overpriced for me.

It just goes to show that year on year the general quality and quantity of the ready made bands is poor. They obviously have far more individual singers out there ready to audition for shows like this which makes me wonder if they ought to create another category (the over 65,S???!) and get rid of the band category altogether, or simply reduce a judge and just have 3 categories. I groaned (and not because of lust) when I saw that yet again they had tried to cobble together another group because they were basically short of bands for one of the judges. Although all the guys in Priority (as they were so briefly known) were pretty phwoaarr, you could tell there was absolutely zilch chemistry nor much motivation. Obviously the guys had originally auditioned as individuals and perhaps didn't really want to be in a band anyway so it is just as well they messed up. One wonders if they actually messed up deliberately so that Louis would have to drop them?

Yeah, so glad they didn't get through- they clearly couldn't be bothered to get together and pratice. When they didn't get through, they didn't even care. I guess being put in a group is a sort of insult and you must feel like it's second best to doing it on your own though.

It is quite obvious that they were only put together to 'make up the numbers' of boybands to be taken to the judges homes round.

Last years groups were awful. Hope and Futureproof just made it a bit more interesting and Hope in particular were tabloid fodder. It's not as though any of the others were destined for superstardom.
