Yeah I'd read that a few days back.

Will be interesting to hear what the tracks are - they might even be half-decent although we'll see.

Shayne needs to sack Louis and find a new manager. In my opinion it's Louis fault Shayne hasn't managed to really make it. I think he is a crap manage who only knows how to manager boybands. Mainly with cover versions as he can't find any decent writers for his acts.

And it's a shame as Shayne deserved more.

I'd want Taio Cruz writing for me - think he's excellent.

To be fair to Louis, Shayne is signed to Syco who are responsible for his records. Judging by the various stories, they seem to have found renewed confidence in him after his second album performed surprisingly well. But until now it has been a pretty poor effort. The selection of singles for the last album was atrocious. Granted, the album wasn't particularly good, but there was far better on it. I doubt Simon has anything to do with Shayne on a day-to-day basis, but he is still signed to his record label and so Simon is still partly at fault.

If I was Taio and had just sold the songs to Simon thinking they'd go to Leona - I'd be well put out.

A previous interview with Taio around 4-6 weeks back had him quoted as saying he was writing for both Leona and Shayne, so I'd take this latest piece of fluff with a huge pinch of salt.

The problem for Shayne is that despite having a nice voice, he doesn't fit into any kind of box - is he a pop singer, is he a ballad singer, is he RnB etc etc? The music industry never knows what to do with such singers and it looks as though his career, such as it has been is likely to fall into a chasm, despite having vocal talent - but he won't be the first.

Taio was right in that interview about playing to peoples strengths. Dammit wish those 5 ballads would go to Leona (if they were good). I love Forgive Me but Leona really needs a HUGE Whitney style ballad, something like One Moment In Time or I Have Nothing. I was not really a fan of most of the stuff on Spirit. Wasnt epic/big enough with the exception of Bleeding Love.

Shayne has more of a pop, dance voice.

I feel sorry for Shyne, he is a brilliant singer and has the potential to go far he is just poorly managed.

I agree to an extent. I dont put all of the blame on Louis, (even though I cant stand the man) as I think there are a multitude of people who organise things.
As soon as Leona won, the record company didnt seem interested in Shayne. I think this was the wrong approach. They are two very different artists with different voices and looks. Syco, for their own benefit, could have had two careers and two lots of money rolling in. They shouldnt have forgotten about Shayne. Shayne DOES have potential if he is used correctly. He has a great voice, great look and seems like a very nice guy. He COULD be the next Justin Timberlake. There is a french singer called Matt Pokora who looks and sounds very similar to Shayne, and he is working with Timbaland. Surely, with his connections, Simon Cowell could arrange something like this for Shayne. It would raise Simons profile and bank balance in doing this too.

Taio Cruz is a very very talented songwriter and producer- the UKs answer to Ne-Yo, if he offered to write me a song, I would say yes in a heartbeat

She has one of those ballads - Footprints In The Sand. Unfortunately the music industry has moved on since then and it would never do well in todays market so they tagged it onto a more contemporary song (Better In Time) when it was released here.

I like Footprints in the sand but I want BIGGER! We know she can do bigger. I still think her X Factor performances are the best things we have heard from her so far. They were simply incredible.

It is a shame that those types of songs would not do very well today. Im sick of the songs in the top 40. I hope Whitney sticks to her true old self with her comeback.
