What you guys think...I like it. A lot more Pop sounding that I would have thought.

Thanks for that. I think I like it. Im usually a fan of her more bouncy stuff like Green Light, Crazy In Love etc but that was really alright with a fantastic vocal. Nice change from all the stuff around at the moment. I see they said it was gonna be a 'dual' single so theres gonna be something else with it to. Hope it's more booty shaking

I really do not like it and i am a certified stan. Sounds forced, or something.
I hope the other track is better.

I quite like it. Nice mature sound from her I think.

But is this her first single though? it might have been better to come back with a bit more of up tempo song. So for that reason I worry about chart positions. It's more like 3rd or 4th single choice.

Shes gonna bring out two songs at the same time said that website. I didnt think people did that anymore what with charts positions being based off I-tune downloads

I'm not sure. If it's a double a side then I think you would have to download both songs. But then Pink went from 38 to number 1 thanks to CD sales so I don't really know to be honest!

I don't buy singles. Only albums on CD then I transfer. I have always prefered actual CD's rather than just a download. I'm a bit of a CD collector!

In a double-A-side situation, I think the record company chooses one of the songs to be the main single and pushes that more, so, for example, if If I Were A Boy was the main song of the two, sales on iTunes et al for that song plus the sales of the CD single would count towards If I Were A Boy, while the lesser song of the two would have to fend for itself and get its own chart position based on downloads only.

It doesn't make sense for double-A-sides anymore, though - they'll probably release both separately and hope they both peak high.

I think the song good, not at all what I expected. As I expected some upbest RnB song but love the beat to it and its a good song for the cold winter nights.

Quite Bland, not the Crazy in Love, De Ja Vu or Baby Boy like her other first singles off an album.

Doubt I will choose to listen to it again anytimwe soon...

I think it's really good. Sounds a lot like what if god was one of us to me

I'm really not sure about this song. It's basically just another dull man bashing R'n'B record closeted in Beyonce wanting to be a boy, apparently...

I am a Beyonce fan I love her however I don't like the song very disappointed. Then again a lot of Beyonce's recent songs have taken a long time to grow on me and there are certain Beyonce songs I really dislike. I liked the other new song "Single Ladies" though a typical Beyonce song much better than "If I Were A Boy" but still not brilliant....IMO

Disappointed.

What happened to her country album?

Or the release of the Nightmare song (the proper title evades me right now)

If I were a boy is like a crap version of Ciara's Like a Boy. The music is dull and the lyrics awful. I hoped for so much better.

Still be buying the album though, I find B'Day to be VERY underrated, there isn't a track I don't love.

I heard it on the radio in some dodgy corner shop earlier and was a bit wtf. They were like "This is the new Beyonce song... If I Were A Boy" and I was like "ehhhh?!?!?!". Anyway, I though it sounded crap, sorry.

She swaggers everyone!

If I was A Boy IS A POOR mans rip off of Ciara's Like A Boy!

And the Albums called I AM... didnt Alicia Keys call her album As I Am ?

AS CIARA SAYS...BE YOUR OWN TREND SETTER
