One I got years ago from weightwatchers and all my friends and family love it.

Toast one side of bread - slice apple untoasted side and cover with cheddar and grill until cheese bubbling

Toasted cheese with a difference!

Cheese on toast served brown and bubbly with a bowl of tomato soup. Perfect.

A big roll, or ciabatta sliced horizontally. Toast.

Top with tuna sweetcorn mayo and thinly sliced tomato with maybe a pinch of cayenne or paprika.

Grated cheddar on top.

Grill to melt the cheese. Yum!

I love it with a pineapple ring on the top

I don't mind pineapple on a pizza but i've never thought to try it on cheese on toast.

You way as well go all out and add some garlic butter

My mate was wondering how much he would make if he set up a stall selling Cheese on Toast. Nothing flash, just cheese on toast with maybe one or two variations.

Do you reckon people would go for that?

Probably not, if they are anything like me and my family and friends.

We think - "Bloody hell" I could have that at home for just a few pennies.

OK you don't have to prepare and 'cook' it ourselves, we just don't like wasting money.

You could say that about most fast food though.

I suppose if they thought it would sell, more burger vans would have already done it.

We do and is one of the main reasons we don't eat fast food, if we do, it might be once every one or two years or so.

put the cheese in a blender with a bit of milk to make runny cheese and then put on the toast and grill. YUM

I've seen it in some pubs and it seemed popular. Worth a go. After all, people can make sandwiches and baked potatoes at home and have cups of tea and drinks. That's not really the point. I'd be tempted in a cold winter's day, especially, perhaps, with the tomato soup idea.

A generous slosh of L&P's finest does the job for me.

As for Heinz cream of tomato soup, the addition of dried basil, chili flakes and a small grating of fresh parmesan makes the world of a difference

The problem with a cheese on toast stall is probably quantity - how would the stallholder be able to make enough, when it was busy? How many grills would you need?

A bit of grated cheddar is nice but, otherwise, I'd say that Heinz tomato soup is one of those shop-bought items that is perfect!

Cheddar Cheese on toast with Lea and Perrins or Wensleydale on toast is nice.

Indeed. It turns a perfectly good snack into a perfectly good snack that beelzebub has wiped his a*se on.

I bought a tin of heinz tomato and basil soup last week. I have to say it was vile. I didn't think it was possible to ruin soup.
