I'd go for that on a winters day Almost any food can be cooked or prepared cheaper at home so that's not really an issue. If the area was busy enough I could see quite a lot of demand.

I think the logistics could be a problem which is why it probably has not been done much before.

Toasted cheese needs to be done there and then . It can't be kept warm (like sausages or burgers) as goes soggy and cold toasted cheese doesn't work. Imagine a huge queue and would take you ages to get through them so defeats the object of fast food!

The other alternative is toasted sandwiches - prepare the sandwiches earlier then put them in grill as and when required . Starbucks do these as do other outlets

Back under the grill to melt.

OMG sounds great. *runs to kitchen*

Welsh Rarebit, have you guys heard of it?, well, you lightly toast a slice of bread, butter it, then grate some strong cheddar & pour a little milk over it & mix well, then drain the milk off, heap the cheese on the toast, sprinkle on a few drops of Worcester Sauce, pop it under the grill for a minute, believe me, ordinary cheese on toast will never taste the same again!! http://smilies.sofrayt.com/^/aiw/victory.gif

I believe that "rabbit" was the original term and "rarebit" was simply an attempt to make it sound more posh.

Rick Stein told a story that is was if the welsh farmer/hunter didn't get his rabbit when hunting then he got cheese on toast for tea instead.
