But.. there'll be 10 of them, including groups, Hero is taken, When you believe is a bit of a no-no and I doubt they'll let them change the songs up even if they are able to.

Maybe people will sing David's versions of ABMB and BJ, though, I dunno if I would like that really

Wonder if the groups will be allowed to do Jackson 5 songs?
Could be a great week for them

Shame that she would cash in like this.
That's somewhat disappointing.”

I disagree, I think its a great opportunity to take advantage of some free publicity. Either way I think Girls Aloud would be performing regardless of Cheryls' involvement in the show.

That makes it sound even worse!
The show is about creating new stars and her a judge should be interested in that instead of wanting to ride on the show for her own benefit.

It's a primetime entertainment show with a focus on music. Hence having current stars appear is more appropriate on XF than anywhere else and they are needed to pad out the results shows.

Girls Aloud were on last year as well, before Cheryl was on the panel. It would look a bit strange if GA didn't appear and yet Louis got Boyzone on and Simon got several of his acts on. (Better than Boyz II Men!)

I think it's tacky to be honest.
She's a judge on this show and her role is to bring out new stars.
and I'm glad Dannii didn't do it last year.

Her role is to judge and entertain the public in doing so. I don't see how her group performing (as they did last year) is going to prevent her doing her job.

I expect Simon would have somewhat put out if Cheryl turned him down for this one. (I also expect that the other girls in the group, their management and their record label would kill her!).

I think it's wrong.
If Dannii would have used her position last year I would have been really disappointed.
But that's my opinion of course.

If I had to choose songs for them , I'd say :

Austin - Billie Jean
Eoghan - One Day in Your Life (I'll be surprised if he doesn't sing this)
Scott - She's Out Of My Life
Alexandra - The Way You Make Me Feel
Laura - Smooth Criminal
Diana - Beat It
Rachel - Bad
Ruth - Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'
Daniel - You Are Not Alone
Girlband - They Don't Care About Us (with the politically incorrect lyrics censored!)
Bad Lashes - Thriller
JLS - Don't Stop Till You Get Enough

So the themes aren't even going to be connected to the guests this year? I suppose that's better than trying to pretend there's some sort of link between Jacko and Girls Aloud!

Amy Winehouse did a brilliant Version of Beat it with Charlotte Church, and I love the Fergie version of Beat it, so a girl could sing that. I'd go with Laura or Diana, I think Diana would make a brilliant attempt at it.

Jackson 5 will be included too won't they?

What are the un PC lyrics of They Don't Care About Us? I'm not sure I know that song?
I think one contestant will sing Earth Song, potentially, Ruth singing the soft parts in Spanish would be amazing

It's hard, maybe pointless, to predict who will sing what in week two when any one of the acts might no longer be there.

I LOVED David Cook's version of Always Be My Baby, one of my favourite performances on AI ever.

well I hope their versions of a MJ song are better than the 2006 rejects version of the Earth Song

These ones particularly :
i am the victiom of police brutality, now.
i'm tired of being the victim of hate,
you're rapin' me of my pride
of for god's sake

Jew me, sue me, everybody do me
kick me, hike me, don't you black or white me

And somehow I don't think this would be appreciated prime time on a Saturday night! :

skinhead, deadhead, everybody gone bad
situation, aggravation, everybody allegation
in the suite, on the news, everybody dog food
bang bang, shock dead, everybodys gone bad.

The song relates to racism basically!

I think all of them would find it hard to follow Cookie with that one. As none of them really have the kind of voice he has.

As for the themes are they all going to be linked to the US. Whats sup with British music for a Britsih show.

But I've a horrible feeling that if he makes Mariah week, Dead Wife guy might just get David's arrangement of Always be my Baby

None of the men should touch BJ with a barge pole, they've either got the MJ original, and get compared to that, or the Chris Cornell arrangment and suffer an immediate comparison to David's performance.

Mind you, with number 1s in the first week - anyone brave enought to take on Hello

Sorry I must have missed this They are having a Mariah week?

Not being funny but half of them will never pull that one off. They really seem hell bent on pushing their vocal ability this year don't they!

I hope noone does any of the songs Cookie did as it would just make me want to vote them of for being a sheep and copying whats good. When IMO none of them could pull it off.
