Where Can I Buy...
Quickfade

Hi, I am trying to track down the following things and am having no luck finding them in 'normal' supermarkets.

I have visited a couple of Asian and independent supermarkets on the off-chance they might stock them, but no luck so far!

Canned Pumpkin

Corn Tortillas that are 100% Corn (no wheat)

Kangaroo

Cartons of Egg Whites

Spaghetti Squash

Sorghum Flour

I really don't want to have to mail order from a specialist shop because it's so expensive! Has anyone seen any of these items in a regular supermarket?

Thanks for any help!

Maybe try ringing some wholesalers and see if they know anyone? Agree with Mummy though, that is quite an eclectic mix!

You can't even get dried tortellini anymore, let alone that lot!
(Actually, when I lived in SE London, I remember seeing some tinned pumpkin in Sainsbury in Bromley, now I think of it, in their specialist section).

I can never find cardoon anywhere. You keep reading how delicious is it(cross between asparagus and artichoke) but can't buy it.

I've seen spaghetti squash a few times in tesco, just regular on the shelf, but only every now and again. They definitely do it though. I'd ask at an independent grocer to see if they can help you out.

ps, if you're ever passing by Galashiels ther's a burger van at B&Q that does kangaroo/ostrich/buffalo burgers if you want to try them. Farmers markets are also good for things like that.

I know some Waitrose stores sell tinned pumpkin, if you have one locally it may well worth calling them to see.

Haha, I am not cooking something with them all together!

I have a list of food / recipes I want to try out and these are some of the ingredients I can't seem to get hold of!

Will try giving Waitrose a call about the pumpkin, though. Thanks for the suggestion.
