[spot the fm who is off work sick...]

1. Who was the first housemate to be called 'fake' on the BB forum?
A: After a few false starts (eg Elizabeth's "accent is so fake"), the first housemate to be just called fake was...Spencer. 31-5-02, "Spencer is weird. I just can't figure him out. I think the couldn'tgivashit attitude is fake and he is totally empty inside."

2. Who was the first housemate to 'go for a sympathy vote'?
A: Penny. 6-6-01, fallyhag posted: "Penny is after the sympathy vote..."

3. Who was the first housemate to have a gameplan?
A: Elizabeth. 13-6-01, John Doc posted: "Elizabeth is nice but she also has a little game plan."

4. Who was the first housemate to be called a bully?
A: BB2 Stuart, re. his row with Penny. John Doc, 1-6-01: Stuart is a bully...Stuart is a tit."

5. Who was the first housemate to be called gorgeous?
A: Elizabeth, after her elderly boyfriend sold nude pictures of her to the tabloids. Mark Hughes posted on 8-6-01: "Some of those nudey pics were gorgeous..."

6. Who was the first housemate to be called a slut?
A: [in a staggeringly sexist and abusive thread, alas] Narinder. on 21-6-01, "What a slut Narinder is, eh?"

7. Who was the first housemate to be called adorable?
A: Josh, 0n 15-6-01: "Josh is a hunk and visually adorable."

8. Who was the first Chosen One?
A: Spencer. On 17-6-02 Dezire posted: "Spencer is obviously the chosen one and hasn't received an incy bit of bad editing throughout the entire series."

9. Who was the first housemate who "should be thrown out"?
A: Jade. In June 2002 when she received a formal warning re. bullying Sophie and discussing nominations, and gamekeeperswife posted: "I think she should have been thrown out earlier."

Nice one wonkey, Get well soon.

Can you say who was the first HM to get the first "full house" insult label ie

"desperate wannabe clinging by their fingernails to their fifteen minutes of fame"

You'll need to do a fuzzy search on desperate as it's often spelt wrong - eg "desparate"

Wow! That's cool stuff. I always thought of bullying, complaints, fakeness, gameplans, etc. as quite recent BB issues, but clearly not.

It occurs to me that BB hasn't changed as much as people think, or maybe its the attitudes TO BB that haven't changed. After BB1, Caroline and Nichola got a bit tipsy at the TV Quick Awards and were photographed falling over by paps. Chris Evans was heard to comment: "Its funny that they were at the TV Quick Awards, because that's what their careers will be - quick!"

So the 'wannabes' were being slagged off from the very start...

Cool, can we ask questions Miss, or will you throw a rubber at my head?

Who was the first hm to threaten to leave and then not?

Who was the first hm to monlogue?

Tricky one to search and a lot of blind alleys. But rather amusingly when Alison was evicted a FM called Accidie posted:

Quote:
“Her appearence on Graham Norton was enough to assure me will not be seeing to much of her again. Enthusiasms one thing, vomit inducing loudness is another, she didn't even complete her week on BBLB.”

On 8-6-01 John Doc (obviously a pioneer as this is his third visit to this thread) posted:

Quote:
“Join the Penny campaign and let's get the peroxide Helen out. She wants to leave anyway.”

Btw I don't remember Helen saying that she wanted to leave, but it seems that she did.

'Showmance' is relatively recent. first outing for the word was Glyn and Jennie, as seen by FM Jamie 181:

Quote:
“I think the relationship between them is pretty genuine. They're quite sweet together, and don't do the whole massaging, sleeping together crap favoured by Grace, Mikey, Imogen etc. (unless I've missed it)

I don't think he's trying to use anyone. If anything, quite the opposite. Jennie's been the one that's been putting the moves on both Glyn and Pete. Not that I necessarily see anything necessarily untoward about it. But if your going to play the 'showmance' card, then I think Jennie has to take her fair of the blame too.”

Fauxmance had to wait until Ziggy and Chanelle, and Stentionhouse:

Quote:
“I think neither of them cares about the other, but they don't want to end their fauxmance too soon in case that's all they have to sell when they leave. That's what BB is about these days, sadly, and it's not helped by the producers putting in this type of HM”

John Doc compares BB2 and 1 and gives us our first wannabes:

Quote:
“I am watching it more this time round - coz there not all common as muck chain smoking vulgar wannabe's like that last bunch”

- which goes against normal forum beliefs, which hold that BB1 had the only HM's to be in it 'for the experience'.

Crikey, wonkey, forum archaeology or what? Are you off sick again?

I had a bit of a funny turn there. Hadn't noticed the 2008 date so was reading the thread as if it was a new one. I was admiring a particularly erudite post when I suddenly saw that I'd written it, but couldn't remember doing so!

Lol. Shamefully, I have done the same when an ancient thread is bumped up. I find myself thinking, "hmmm, very well put old chap, who are you?" then see that it is myself.

Not off sick but working late and can't be arsed to start anything constructive. Sigh. Just about to go.

Alison OUT!

For me, it's because I want Alex and Sandy, sh*t-stirring bitches, in, not necessarily because I want her out. I do, however, think she is somewhat false and an attention seeker, but not nearly enough to be interesting. So by default, Alison. Her fatness means nothing to me. She hasn't proved herself to me yet; it was hard for me to choose between voting for Sandy or her but since Sandy has been such a narky f*cker of late, he missed out on my vote by a slim margin coz I thought he might cause some trouble. I may change my position on Alison yet. Also she reminds me of my annoying friend (who strangely also reminded me of Liz last year for totally different reasons).

Wonder who was the first "dullard" - who may of course may also have been the first to "fly under the radar".

As opposed to the first one to divide opinion between being "nasty" (or "vile") vs "entertaining".

Have you found the fm who first mentions that all the hm wants is a magazine deal?

Haha. Funnily enough I've been reading back the posts of MelBB1 you linked to another thread ( not the real Mel btw) and on 11/6/02 she said... 'Adele's popularity is soaring despite her behaviour in the house and lack of personality. I think I know who the producers want to win don't you?.
