Sharons Return
BexPex
09-10-2008
I was waiting for a train today and glancing over the front pages of some of the magazines in the platform shop and I noticed a big story saying that Sharon was returning. didnt have chance to read the story as my train pulled in. Any ideas what that is about - my apologies if there is already a thread on here about this.

Gosh, I nearly died! I thought i'd have to go through the pain of seeing her on my telly for the next 9 weeks!

I've read alot of speculation over Sharon appearing on the show....I can't remember if this had been confirmed or not....

not alot else has been said, some people seem to be thinking shes going to be mentoring a special "wild card" catergory of acts who failed to make the top 3 in there respectful catergories...but I very much doubt that...

That would be rather interesting, mentoring a wid card category. I quite like that. Wonder who they would have - Suzie and that lovely sweet blond girl I hope.
I think I will have to make a point of going to the shop and reading the story from the magazine I saw it in, to find out if Sharons to return. Would stir things up thats for sure.

If it were true I'd like to see Hannah return....But I hope she realises she doesn't really need more exposure from the show now, she'll probably go out and hold her own somehow.

Ah yes Hannah, I really liked her. She was different, natural, had a certain secrecy about her. Very sheltered about who she is. Ive not seen the publicity on her since.

If shes got it and its meant to be then she will get it.

A wildcard category would be great - Sharon could "introduce" them, but technically not appear on the Live Shows as a judge. Meaning that three people are neutral, so in a bottom two situation it could be:

Simon's act vs Neutral

oooooooooo, that'd be interesting! I'd like to see the Neutral acts without a mentor!

I liked the secrecy thing about her. It really shown that was trying to progress in the competition on her own merits, without using a sob/sympathy story. she came in, performed then went off...which I think is the format that should be used for everyone!

Totaly agreed. It really annoys me when people use their personal circumstances to gain favour. Its not fair to the other competitors that have worked so hard for it without complaint. It reminded me of Britains Got Talent. I was so annoyed with the kid that told the judges about the bullying and more so the lady that went on about her kids still being in the phillipeanes and that she had to leabe them behind and how hard it is and that shes doing it for them. then on the live show when singing had a huge picture of her kids in the background - sympathy vote. Grrrrrrrrrrrr Get a life, if your good enough youll make it without the ooh my dog died.

I know the feeling, I can't help but wonder whether a sob story is provoked and played on by the production and editing side of it. for example, there was a young girl from a town near cardiff who auditioned this year. Who used some story about the recent suicides in her areas, where they played sad music in the background. according to an interview I read with her she was forced into bringing it up to use for her as a back in story against her will :-/ what goes on behind closed doors eh....

(p.s. This is abit off-topic, but the kid who was "bullied" at school actually live not so far away from me, I know people who he went to school with...and that kid was not bullied!)

He wasnt bullied. Well there you go. Another reason for doing away with the sob story thing. Thats just sick, disgusting and takes the mickey out of people that are actually suffering that sort of abuse. Makes it more difficult for those victims too. Another is women crying rape that actually havent been raped - makes it increasingly difficult for those that have been raped to come forward for fear that thye will not be believed etc. Oooh another one of my bug bears, but now Im totaly going off the topic - apologies.
