Leona, Beyonce and Christina Chart Battle: 3rd November
A really tough week - Leona, Beyonce and Christina are all releasing new singles on the same day, and Leona faces some stiff competition for another #1 as both Beyonce's and Xtina's are really good, particularly Beyonce's.
All 3 can be found here: Leona Lewis - Forgive Me Beyonce - If I Were A Boy Christina Aguilera - Keeps Gettin' Better Which will do better? |

I hope it'll be Leona. The X Factor should giver her a little boost plus her UK fanbase should increase her chances of being #1 too.

Beyonce hopefully. I think Leona's song is pretty awful but will get to numero 3 for being Leona, yes she has that kind of status now! Christina's is i think 5 or something. Bey's after listening to the song all day today i love but i dont think the masses will lap it up so probably number 4, hopefully.
So Leona wins. |

If Leona's song was a standalone single (ie not promoted by X Factor) then I think it wouldn't even make it into the top 5.
It will be interesting to see how Girls Aloud chart when their new one is out. |

Probably Leona, unfortunately.
What I'd really like to know about that song is whether there's anybody who can understand a WORD she's mumbling I thought Beyonce and Christina had poor diction, but WOW!

This is the first time i've heard the beyonce song :-S she doesn't really have huge sales in the UK, shes the kinda act thats a week in/week out, when it comes to chart success... as for christina, its hard to tell. the last album didn't really spawn out as many hits as "stripped." If I recall the only single of back to basics to reach the top 5 was "ain't no other man." when is the release date of the XF single???? if its before the 3rd i'd say they'd fight them off! |

thats a toughie...........I think its possible none of them will reach the top spot, leona's new single isn't really wonderful......I think the video is very gimmicky and americanised as well.

It'll be interesting to see how well the X Factor charity single does. The charity thing they done on Pop Idol didn't do well at all with all 12 of them on it, and sometimes that just doesn't appeal at all.
Just look at the huge charity single for breast cancer that the likes of Beyonce, Mariah, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Leona, Mary J Blige, Fergie etc done - that didn't exactly set the charts alight. |

As for the breast cancer song, your right...but to be fair that song is AWFUL, I want to cut my ears off when it gets to the Fergie solo (This song is currently on a 30minute rotation at my work....) Awww I like the Breast Cancer song - its really quite good
![]() Although you're not the only person I've heard comment on that Fergie solo - having said that, most people go for the Miley Cyrus bit as the most annoying

I only heard Beyonce's for the first time on Radio One this morning. It went down badly with the team on R1, although it did grow on me a bit as it went on. My problem with it is that it feels like a second or third single as oppose to the lead single. It's preferrable to the mess that Deja Vu was, but nothing thrilling.
I really like the start of Christina's, but then it disappoints with about one line appealing to me and the rest is a bit tedious. I daresay I'll be slated for it, but I think Leona's is the best although it would have been better suited to the summer than winter. |

Christina diction is FAR worse than Leona's. 'Fighter' is so hard to understand and it's sung at a slower speed than 'Forgive Me'.
With that said, I'm not saying Leona is always like this. I don't think her diction isn't awful, but it's not usually this bad. |

Beyonce's new tune is great, much better than anything she's done before.
I have seen a few comments around the net thats she's taking a lead from Leona Lewis - lol. |

lol, no and no to both of those. I'm not exaggerating when I say I can't understand A WORD of Forgive Me. I can't even figure out if she actually sings the words "forgive me" in the song. And again, no, Fighter is a faster, more forceful song.

It is a fast-paced song, the verses especially, but she is lightyears better than Christina in the diction department IMO. And sorry but I think you are exaggerating seen as though she says "hope you forgive me" numerous times during the chorus. Even with the layered vocals it's pretty clear. Unless you've only heard it once or something but I'd still find it astonishing you couldn't hear her say that at least once. |
