Listening to some of the appalling attempts at harmonising on the X factor last week....

I couldn't help but cast my mind back to these ladies and think "they don't make them like that anymore " http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WGz-V5...eature=related

Or do they?

There are actually some fantastic harmonizing bands around at the moment, most notably:

www.myspace.com/delays
www.myspace.com/fleetfoxes

Their harmonies make me weak at the knees.

I
You're so right about that! There's nothing I love more than a nice bit of well-put-together vocal harmony, but most of the X factor groups seem to think "Harmony = singing everything in thirds, regardless of whether or not this actually fits the chords of the song"! It's quite painful to listen to!
