Yes, that's right, it's official, it's coming out on November 23rd 2008 in the USA. No date yet if that is the same date for other territories. Also, that means every American will get a free bottle of Dr Pepper, I wonder how that will work out!

Whatever the release date over here is, I can't wait!

Ha! Take that Dr. Pepper!

Good news about the album, I just hope it lives up to the hype. Quite confident it will though.

Also, if they start touring I hope he doesn't steal Finck back from NIN. Their drummer just left them and I kinda wanna see them before the lineup changes completely...again.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here...nothing is OFFICIAL until it's on the OFFICIAL website, which as of the time of this post remains dormant.

I do believe that it'll be released this year, and most likely on November 23rd, but believe me, I've followed the progress this album for long enough to know that everything can go down the drain in a matter of seconds. When it's on the official site, I'll get out my Dr. Pepper and eagerly await the release date - and probably be a late-night camper outside HMV or wherever they release it in the UK - but until then, it's nothing more than a rumour, albeit a very believable one with a reasonably reliable source.

There you go, confirmed by the store in America that have signed a deal with GN'R to have exclusive retail rights, they have the cover and tracklist up with the all important release date. The official site is currently being updated and will have an official announcement on it shortly.

Can't wait! Surely a contender for album of the year, given the quality of the songs we've heard already?

The silence on the official website is worrying though, I must say. But I expect it'll be updated by tomorrow...hopefully anyway!

Don't forget the official Best Buy promo videos which were leaked online. Think they're still up on YouTube somewhere.

dont think it can recreate what gnr was.

They where 5 pisshead/drug addicts all living on the edge the appetite album was really something special.

if axl and slash can make up the other gunners maybe follow

izzy even joins axl on stage now

You obviously haven't been to see GnR 2008 version live. Slash isn't needed. Bumblefoot is twice the guitar player Slash ever was. This version of the band are probably better live than the old lot as they are better musicians. I've heard most of this album already years ago like a lot of people but I still can't wait.

Official site has now been updated and lets you hear the whole of the new single "Chinese Democracy". Sounds a lot better than the first time I heard it... Can't wait for this!

It sounds awesome. Can't believe it's finally being released. I had given up on it ever seeing the light of day. Apparently Axl Rose has something like 5 more albums worth of material.

Is Buckethead a definite no now then? Him and Finck were an excellent team.

For that matter, does anyone know the actual line-up as it stands now? it seems there were an endless list of artists that contributed to the album in some way.

I have heard sixteen songs from the tracks up for nomination to be on the album and none of them have any strength against the weakest of songs from GNR's past albums. This album is seventeen years too late. The band that is currently going on [the line up we have] is GNR in name only.

It's too little too late, Axl. Axl Rose you are a fat twinky munching bitter old has been.

Pity DS couldn't even get the article right and seemed to have copied and pasted the old list off Best Buy, theres spelling mistakes and part titles in there! Tut tut!

Man, I can't believe this is actually happening!

I do a rock/metal radio show for my University and we played 'Chinese Democracy' last night. A very surreal moment actually introducing the new single from GNR. Who would've thought it, eh?

Can't wait. Hopefully it is better than Velvet Revolver which was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. From what I hear from this new track this is going to be good.

Metallica are back to their best, hopefully GnR will return to their best. It will feel strange without Slash but I think they will manage. The main songwriters in GnR seem to be Izzy and Axl.

Although I'm betting that it gets pulled at the last minute for having some Muslim or Bhuddist quotes buried in one of the tracks - ala Little Big Planet - that might offend.

On that note, what are the people saying at the start of the Chinese Democracy track? Sounds really odd.

I'm a huge GNR fan and I've heard most of the leaks of this album and I was dreading the day anything came of it - but the new single is amazing, here's hoping the rest is as good

have you heard of youtube lol

from what i have heard of the new or old depending when it was written the last 14 years i aint overly impressed.

As been a better live band 95% of the live set non of the hired help wrote any of the music.

best of luck to axl but if he wasnt such a prat we would have had a new album over a decade ago.
