I am so sorry for you I do hope you find him soon. Have you tried getting the local newspaper to print a story it would reach a wider audience that way.

Don't give up hope. Last year my one of my dogs,( a small shih tzu), disappeared from my garden and I was distraught.
I never let them out alone and I was in the kitchen overlooking the garden and never heard a thing so I can only assume someone had nipped over our six foot fence and taken her.
It was freezing weather and as she is a real lap dog I was very upset. We did all the usual things..posters, police, etc etc. Despite being chipped too we heard nothing at all.
However, some time after I was in a taxi and was telling the taxi driver the story of my missing pet shih tzu when he suddenly said " Is it one like that dog there?"
I looked in the direction he was pointing and there she was scurrying along a main road being chased by a boy. It was a case of follow that dog! The lad fled when he realised we were after them. We cornered my dog near a field and she literally leaped into my arms. She was thinner, filthy but safe! I would not have ever believed the chance of finding her like that but it happened.
I have no real idea where she was during her absence but my purpose for repeating this story is that I got her back and hopefully you will be reunited with your dog too. I feel for you and wish you all the best in your search.
Pester the dog homes near you too so you keep your dogs description in their minds!

If you have one of those free local papers ask if they will do an interview with you and publish a photo - got to be worth the extra exposure.
Good luck.

Hi. The shelter where you got your dog from do they know what area it was previously picked up from or who it's original owner was. Because if it's come from somewhere near you it might try and find it's way back there even if it was mistreated. I just thought i would mention it to you. I hope you find it ok anyway.

Whatever the outcome I will be here for you, but a strange thing tells me that he's still alive

Thanks for the advice and support. Unfortunately there is still no sign of Sid. My other dog isn't eating because he is missing Sid. I just hope where ever he is he is safe. When he shows up I'll let you all know.

I know! It's so heartbreaking, but I'm sure he'll come home, I'm still optomistic for you and your other dog who is obviously confused and sad too x

I'm so sorry to hear your dog has gone missing I hope you find him soon.

I've just found my cat after she disappeared for a month. She got lost and ended up 2 and a half miles away. I'd put posters up and luckily someone spotted one and she'd been stealing food from her house. So don't give up hope, especially as he is chipped which gives you a good advantage.

Any news at all Murraymar? I'm wondering if he's been stolen, we've had quite a few dogs been stolen around here in the last year, or gone missing.

I think he has been stolen. I can't see how such a large dog can vanish off the face of the earth. However I must admit people have been great I've had so many phone calls re labradors sightings (none of them mine may I add) but at least it shows people have an eye out for my rogue. Claude has started nibbling again.

GREAT GREAT GREAT NEWS EVERYBODY!!!!!!! Sid is home safe and well, if in need of a good feed and a bath. Thanks to everybody for your support. He was found about 1/2 a mile away from me, hanging with a black lab. I can finally sleep for the first time in 3 weeks Thanks again

Thank God he is out of the cold, it got really cold here in the last day or too.
