Are there any shops around where I can go in to trade my phone for cash straight away rather than posting it to a place and waiting for a cheque?

Blimey, you had a good night swagging then?

They are cool, you have to register in store and get a card and usually have to wait a while for them to test the hardware.

I brought a Wii Xmas 2006 for £180.
Used it 5 times, sat under the TV collecting dust.
May 2007 CEX gave me £173 for it!
Not bad eh?

You get more money if you take an instore credit.

Cash you tend to get a bit less, how much less depends on the item.
For example, they would have given £190 as an in store credit on my Wii yet when I traded a PS3 game a few weeks ago, it was only a £3 difference.

I know its not a shop but if CEX give you a crap price or try to rip you off like they have a nasty habit of doing, try www.envirofone.com i use that site when CEX won't give me a good price or they have no cash in store.

I signed up for Mazuma but didn't like the fact that they check the IMEI's before approving the trade and you can send it off meaning longer waiting times. Enviro check the IMEI after it has arrived at their warehouse and i dont mean that in a law breaking way i mean it as it just takes longer.

And having said that, i have a Vodafone Nokia 6300 and a T-Mobile LG KP100 that need shifting and are still in their boxes with all the accessories. Might trade them in for some games tomorrow

They checked the IMEI online instantly?
Cheque within a week of them receiving the phone?
Cannae grumble at that...

@ Hitman, no you cannot bargain.
The work from a price matrix which is also online.
Have a look online before you go in store, that will give you guaranteed values.
As DMX has said however, sometimes they run out of cash, like my bank really ha!

Always a good idea to keep at least one unlocked phone as a spare. Just in case your current one goes bust or gets damaged.
