Famous orchestras that were instrumental to the pop scene
For a kick off:
The Salsoul Orchestra The Philharmonica Orchestra There's loads. But the point is...these orchestras were instrumental in kicking off solo careers as being the backers of some very good soul singers. To this day, I still play the Salsoul. I just love being taken back to that era

This particular piece of the Salsoul caught my imagination around the time when The Commodores had brought out 'Machine Gun'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPCFx...eature=related We also had bands around like the Fatback band and others with that same sound. Van McCoy was also a huge hit with 'The Hustle'....heavily orchestrated A lot of these bands, artists and sounds were backed up with The Salsoul or the Philharmonica Orchestra or others. It would be good to know if some folks here know more about them than I do. Admittedly, I only payed attention to the sounds and not the names in the credits. ![]()
