Have Had This Model For Abouy 2yrs Now And It Periodically Goes Through Phases Were It Freezes Up. ( I.e. The Screen Remains Just The Blue Background Of The Title List But You Can Here The Voices In The Background Or When You Press The Buttons On The Remote It Takes About 5 Mins For The Action To Take Place Or The Scree Freezes Again. )
Ive Taken It Back To The Sony Centre And They Supposidly Did A Version Upgrade And It Was O.k. For A While But It Seems To Be Happening Again.
Any Suggestions Please.
Theres 6months Warrenty Left Should I Just Take It Back To The Sony Centre Or Does Anybody Out There Know A Way To Fix This Problem.

If you have lots of time on your hands you could read this thread, but as it is now up to 940 replies that would take you quite a while.

However, help is at hand, if you go turn of software updates in the set-up menu (push "System Menu" on the remote, select "Set Up", then "DTV Settings", then "Technical Information" scroll down to "Digital Software Upgrade" and set it to "OFF".

This should solve 99% of your lock-up problems, it did for almost all of the rest of us anyway (I have a 910, but it uses the same operating software). Do not worry about missing any future software upgrades, these products, at three years since launch, are unlikely to have any new software. You can always check here on DS or the DTG here from time to time to be sure you will not miss any.
