BT and Otelo both useless
Its quite a long story but I need to vent so apologies
16 months ago I moved to a new house, ordered my landline a simple task in itself Between July and October I had 8 failed instalations with excuses such as, your house doesnt exist, then on 25 October 2007 I finaly get a line installed and set up my Broadband with AOL, all happy despite the length of time it had taken, I contacted Otelo to make a complaint they accept the complaint. November 2007 I get a bill from BT charging me the instalation of Three landlines, and send me itemised bills for two other households, I contact them they apologise and say they will send me a corrected bill, December I get another bill and a letter telling me they will disconnect unless I pay , the bill is still for three households and is now in excess of £400, I contact BT again who apologise yet again and tell me they are getting it reolved. One week later my phone is cut off. I contact BT who claim that my bill is correct and I must pay for all three lines. I get in contact with a Mr Duncan Banks after finding his name through Google, he apologises and gets the line turned back on, Otelo during this time state that they are dealing with my complaint. From then until Feb 2008 my line gets cut off a further three times and reinstated by Duncan Banks each time and several apologies. Feb 2008 my line gets cut off for the last time, BT state againthat I must pay the whole bill which has now had a disconnection fee added to it. Otelo then state that they will deal with it and I should not conatct BT anymore. Otelo make excuse afetr excuse and I finaly get a final reponse frmo Otelo stating that they agree the bill is wrong and order BT to reconnect my phone and pay a measly £300 compensation. During the time from Feb toJuly when I get my final response from Otelo I have had no access to the AOL broadband I have been paying £35 per month for. On my final response from Otelo it states that BT have 28 days to carry out the reconection and pay the compensation. It is now 11 October and I have had two failed instalations again from BT, they have said they cannot give me my number back and I must pay AOL to have my Broadband moved to the new number BT will provide me, nobody at Otelo is offering any real help , I have lost two days of work for no reason due to the lastest failed instalations and BT want me to pay £124.99 when they do finaly instal a new telephone line. I am sick of it, I dont live in a cabled area so have no other optins to get telephone and Broadband aagggrrhhhhhh Sorry for the ranting, but I had to get it off my chest. Does anyone know a good lawyer who will help me take both Otelo and BT to court to recover all my costs and get some real compensation. |
