I've heard rumours online O2 will be charging £499 for this phone sim free. This sounds a bit much when the K850i was released I was able to find shops charging between £299 and £350 max for that phone.

£500 is not worth it especially when they charge the same for the N96.

Does anybody know how much Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U will charge? Anything over £400 is silly money.

Aside from the Smartphone range of the SE's I have never seen the camera based phones cost that much......499 is a conseravtive estimate, I'd go around 350 as an educated guess given SE tends to market it's K/C range as mid market handsets.

Any guesses how much Orange will charge for it on a contract then? They're definitely getting it as it is in their October brochure in the shops as a handset they have available. I went to renew my contract today and was surprised to see not a single handset I liked, but this one looks good so I'm interested.

I've heard it starts on the top end £35 per month for contracts if you want it free and it looks like it will be silver on orange.

The firm release date on the Carphone Warehouse is the 24th but it could arrive in other shops before that. I'd expect to see it drop to about £250 on ebay by Christmas but as I want the guarantee from a shop I'd pay up to £400

It's a bit expensive considering a 16GB memory card will cost £60 as it only comes with a 2GB. Play.com is £399 but normally you get phones cheaper elsewhere than Play so that's why £500 sounds a bit over the top.

Well judging by the price Play.com are charging for the Sim Free version you'd have to say that it is entirely possible o2 will charge a similar price.

Play.com have set a price of £399.99 so you'd think that o2 will fall in line with that.

I had my eye on either the C905 or C702 but the cost of the Sim Free version of the C905 put me off and as the main feature of the C702 cannot be used on PAYG that wasn't a worthy purchase.

That's not too bad for Orange then. I'm on £25 per month (Dolphin), so I'm guessing that it would be maybe £150 for the handset on my contract?

I'm sure I read online it's about that for O2 so it looks like it.

I heard it will be in shops by Monday but they said that about October 10th and it's still not here.

Sounds alright. I was in the Orange shop near home today asking about renewing my contract and the service I got was dire - I asked how much some handsets were (N95, N96, Omnia, 6220) and the guy wouldn't say, and instead tried to get me to go for a pink Samsung (er - I'm a bloke) or a rubbishy-looking Walkman phone (playing music on a phone isn't my thing at all - I'd much rather use it for calls and listen to music on my ipod, call me old fashioned). I asked if anything is due out in the next few weeks and he said no, but that as Christmas was on the horizon more handsets would be out for then. Not impressed, I walked out of the shop.

Is the C902 more of an equal to the K850i ?

And thats only £269.99 from play.com , I imagine the C905 will be down in price onces its newness wears off

As mentioned above the C905 is only £399 @ play.com for sime free

I'd buy another K850i over a C902 as it has a proper Xenon flash rather than Photoflash LED and the screen is larger.

The only good point about the C902 is it has Face Detection unlike the K850i but the new C905 has all this plus a Xenon flash so it will be the best all round camera phone of the 8MP phones.

The C905 flash beats the Samsung i8510 INOV8 phone. For indoor and party shots the C905 also beats alot of low budget or mid cameras.

I'm waiting for the C905 to see what price it'll really be on Sim Free / PAYG before I make my mind up whether to get it, as I'm on a 12 month contract on o2 so an upgrade will force me to 18 months, something I really don't want to do - I'm thinking about taking a serious discount on my tariff and buying the phone myself.

However if it costs too much I might just get a cheaper phone like the C902 (£200), G900 (£220) or W902 (£300 but bound to come down v.quickly) and be done with it. Even the W890 at about £120 is a bargain now.

Yup you will have to go on a 18 month, its only 3 that now do anything less then 18 month.

however if your spending £70 plus, am sure there will be plenty of extras thrown in for you

Its not that long since it was only Three that pushed you into 18 month contracts , everyone seems to be going 18 / 24 months in length

After 12 months my phones usually need changing

I see ebay have a few on sale for £449 sim free I wonder how they got them early? I heard a rumour about O2 having them tomorrow but with a price tag of £500 that's over priced.

What will be the price from Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u?

I'm looking at a new phone and was thinking about the C905, noway I would pay that for one though. Play have them for £399 sim free but i'm not sure I even want to pay that much.

If it drops to £300-£350 then I would be more tempted.

I went round all the phone shops today and none were very helpful was told end of the month and they tried to sell me contacts.

One in dependant place told me a contact is cheaper over the time. He said sim free £500 - £550 like the N96 how do they figure that the hardware is only a step up from the K series with a better camera and Wi-fi it's not a smart phone.

It looks like I will buy this phone online from Play.com anybody had much experience with them? Will it be a new phone they send out?

£500 is not worth it especially not for a smart phone. A 8.1 mega pixel camera is only worth £120 so if you took that out you have a Sony Ericsson C702 which is £149 on O2 PAYG so a fair price is £300 - £400 like the K850i.

Play are a decent company on the whole, I wouldn't hesitate to use them and if it's stated as new on the site then yes it'll be a new phone.

I don't see how other places can get away with charging £499 when play are doing it a £100 cheaper, hopefully prices will drop quite qucikly.

A guy in the phone shop today claimed prices will be subject to change and £399 is not a official price.

I hope it isn't some sort of pre-order price and play up it once it's been released.

Play try to always force prices down , I doubt very much its an intro price , given time the price will go south

the phone still has not been sent to any stores.

all the eBay auctions, if you read at the bottem say the phone will be delivered 2 weeks after you win.

feel free to PM if you have any questions, i had another play with the C905 Yesterday as Sony Ericsson were in store, seems really good, but am unsure of the price tag, i know as O2 Staff we get a good discount, but still its over priced
