I am ashamed to be from the same city as this moron in this topic.

I saw him live a couple of years ago, and yeah, he's pretty good at what he does. Personally, I think he's a bit hit and miss though. Some of his songs are awesome -- others are a bit too obviously commercial.

People who like Damien Rice, Elliot Smith and Wilco may like him in addition to country fans.

They have to say that it was the Ryan Adams version of an Oasis song though, otherwise it may be mis-leading to a viewer who may thing it is the girls themselves who have done their own take of the song when they have just copied another artists version!!
They have got into fairly hot water when this wasn't done on other shows such as American Idol if i remember rightly LOL

Did Wonderwall get to Number 1 in America as it didn't in the UK. It's pretty bad research if they can't even get 14 genuine No1's out of over 1000.

They made a mistake persisting with Wonderwall, since neither version is suited to a group of female pop singers.”

Mid you the other group did not make a good choice neither just slighly better. If they are too stay in they need to up their game considerably and choose far better songs.

In most cases its the song and Choreography and styling that clinches it as usually the singing is pretty much drowned out by the backing track.

Here's a live Ryan Adams version. It's very different to the Oasis one.

The second songs didn't have to be no. 1's. They could choose what they wanted. It was mentioned on Xtra Factor that Wonderwall didn't reach no. 1 which is why they didn't sing it the first time.
