I've heard over the last few months that Leon has had singing lessons, that he's now comfortable singing in front of a crowd, that he's more charismatic as he's had about 9 months to work on all this. So, I was expecting him to perform well.

But I have to say, it was really quite poor. He was a nervous wreck! He kept jumping up and down for some reason, didn't engage with the audience, hit some bad notes, was out of rhythm with the music and overall was one of the worst performances from a guest on the X Factor ever. It seemed as if he couldn't wait to get off the stage. Even Simon Cowell didn't look impressed, a completely different picture to last year after Leona performed.

He'll obviously get to number one just on the back of being XF winner and singing tonight. But really, I don't see him having much of a career beyond the first single.

What do you guys think of Leon's performance tonight?

not surprised because I don't think he's very good and he shouldn't have won last year......

I agee. I was expecting a good performance from an X factor winner, but I found him nervous, loooking thin and embarrassing. Rhydian should have won!

He was exactly how he was during last year - nice guy, but no stage presence, no charisma and no outstanding singing

Leon was great, but humbled by his mentors. He's not vain or flash, and I think it's endearing.

Love his new song.

I thought it was poor. The monotone voice and the peculiar movements did not make for a stand out performance.

He seems like a nice guy, but he just seems out of his depth. And I wouldn't guarantee him that number one either.

Tonight was just extra proof that a certain Rhydian Roberts should have won last year I'm afraid!

Felt really sorry for him. The guy has no confidence & looked so uncomfortable on stage. He desperately need some performing experience or he'll never cope on tour.

Well it wasn't his first single, that was last years Christmas no 1 which was the fastest selling single ever, or something like that. I noticed the jumping bit as well, strange, but to be honest, I thought he was marginally better than last year. Having said that, I still havn't got a clue how he won in the first place.

I actually like Leon and there was some parts in his perfomance where I thought he was way too nervous through the whole song and wasn't sure what to do.

I feel sorry for him because people who don't like him have more horrible things to say about him after tonight But his fans will buy his album, no doubt about that! I love the song anyway.

Neither would I. It really doesn't sound like a hit to me at all.

His vocals were incredibly robotic. Several of the acts outperformed him tonight in week 1!

It was a stumbling mumbling performance and his jumping up and down was really irritating. Poor Leon has so little personality - I thought someone would have worked on it over the last year. Not good at all.

All that jigging up and down was off putting. I think nerves got the better of him, and IMO al lot of the X factor contestants tonight were streets ahead of Leon.

He did seem even more nervous than he was when he was performing on X Factor last year. He gained in confidence there but now seems to be back to square one.

Wasn't a particularly great song either - a bit dull.

Yeh, I agree a lot of the XF contestants tonight were defo better: Laura, Diana, Alexandra, just to name a few.

He really shouldn't be nervous now. He's had most part of a year to work on it and he's expected to perform well, seeing that he's the winner of last year. A huge disappointment.

Yeah they did when you think about Laura! Even some of the weaker singers out performed him and he's supposed to be who they look up to! It's almost sad to think about the fantastic perfomance Leona put on for us first live show last year.

Ilike his new song but his performance was less than professional.
He has no stage presence. His jigging about was obviously due to nerves and made me feel uncomfortable just watching

But Rhydian didn't win as he didn't get enough votes...sorry

He's a nice guy but when he acts fake (like he did tonight) he comes across big headed!

He'll never grow out of it so what's the point in him acting like something he isn't?

He was awful, he can't dance to save his life, and the singing was very, very average. Leona lewis he will never be. I wish she came on instead.
