Laura is one of the most over rated acts on the show this year. She does not sing she just shouts. I really dont get the hype. The fact that she thanked "daddy" does suggest perhaps she has been paid to perform. Shes not nice looking, she shouts her songs and she is over rated. One of the weakest females this year IMO

Rachel, alex, diana, JLS and Shakira can sing. The rest are just pretenders. I felt embarrased for Bo Selecta' Laura tonight. It was offensive to the ears. They even had to put her last to ensure she got through. Speaks volumes.

I think she's very good but she did shout a bit last night. I also don't buy her lack of confidence because she didn't look nervous one bit. She's definitely not weak though.

Does anyone find it irritating when she refuses the pronounce the words correctly, in some weird off key jazzy way, which she seems to think is pleasing to the ear.

I think that Laura is fabulous. She is one of the best singers besides Hannah Bradbeer who was sadly put out of the competition last week.

I did think some parts of the song were a bit 'shouty' and sometimes she sings in different voices that sound nothing like eachother.

Sheeez, what a nice person you are. Isn't it polite where you come from to thank the parents who raised you and who perhaps made sacrifices so that you could achieve what you wanted?

Everyone to their own but it was the 1st show and I think you will find that there are far more people thoght she was great than thought she was "One of the weakest"

She's an experienced performer..I thought the 'she's really shy and nervous' comment on the VT was mirroring Leonas treatment - potential winner/front runner that needs to be seen as not a sure fire thing and has her own 'issues' etc.

Music is subjective OP, dont make the mistake of assuming shes over-rated, just because you dont like her.
And whats with the personal comments about her?, whats that got to do with her singing?.

Slating appearance (when theres nothing wrong with Laura's anyway) is just a way of saying "I have nothing else to back up my dislike"

I liked Laura though, apart from the awful screech at the start, I thought someone stood on her foot Best of the night though by a mile IMO.

I've said from the start that she's over-rated...we've heard it all before. Some of the notes she sang last night were so off key, but the judges chose to ignore it for some reason! Defo some favouritism I reckon!

She's horrendous. She sounds OK when she starts but soon descends into that ridiculous diva-wailing thing they're all so fond of these days.

I have to say she is very over rated! I knew she was going to be last on last night as she is the judges favorite, you can tell.

She just sounded like she was singing a number of routines she'd been trotting out for ages.

Her connection with the song was almost zero. Her fake nervousness and shyness is just a cover for the impression she gives of having absolutely z-e-r-o personality.

I always expect Simon to disappear down that gaping hole of a mouth and her neck veins to burst open.I dislike her voice a lot.It is far too forced.

I think she's the best singer of the lot. I like the fact that there hasn't been anyone like her on the show before and I hope she wins.

IMO she gave the best performance last night. I did not like the shouting bit towards the end but she was still fab.

I agree, i know it sounds strange but i dont know what her singing voice sounds like because sometimes its all over the place and i cant make out what she is singing. I think she sometimes over-does her singing and if she stopped trilling she would sound wonderful and clear.

Laura is very talented and she is a great singer, I really enjoyed her performance.
