Anyone Else Getting Increasingly Uncomfortable At Simon/Louis Feud?
I know some people think it's just pantomime, but I am not liking the feud that there's going on. Simon seemed to make it his aim to taunt Louis, his acts and his management whenever possible last night - even more so than usual. He doesn't do it with any of the other judges, so why is he so against Louis? To me, it seems like the only reason why Simon wants him on the show is to ridicule him further.

I think you're right. There is a clear bully-ish manner towards Louis, especially last night. From everyone.... when everything is meant to be professional and sincere.....
There are some dark places in television..... |

It was horrible the way Simon said he thought the two girl bands last night were terrible solely as a way of pissing Louis off. He didn't even look at them, just leering over at Louis with disdain.
I also thought there was real venom in the way he said "Shut up Louis, that's pathetic" when Louis tried to come back at him. To be honest the judge-bickering is all stupid and childish and often put-on for the sake of television "drama". |

Even Dermot picked up on it. When Simon made a good comment about JLS, he said, "Simon said something nice about one of Louis' acts! I'm shocked."

Simon's always making sly digs, but then Louis makes himself look foolish because he tries to defend himself with insults and fails miserably. It's a no-win situation for him - either sit there and take it (and look like Simon's bitch) or fight back with limp comebacks.

Louis has had his day. Its time for him to go now and get someone new in for next year. If the show can survive without Sharon then it can definitely survive without Louis.

I don't mind the odd put down from them towards one another, but it was getting so stupid last night and started to get pretty nasty on the Xtra Factor. Louis is so easy to wind up and Simon knows he'll always get a reaction from him, so he does it on purpose just for a bit of fun.
It reminds me of a brother/sister picking on each other. |

I find it funny and don't worry - it's all set up to get viewers in.

I'm so glad others feel like this.
I said last night that it was embarrassing and Louis must be getting a hell of a lot of money to be prepared to be made to look like a completel blabbering idiot every week! I thought, in particular, the comment from Simon about Louis not understanding the appeal of a "real woman" was a step too far...You could practically see Louis squirm. |

Louis gets paid well to take s**t off Simon. It's in the contract. It's all an act. Remember when he like er 'quit'? Then came back?
It's all for ratings and if Louis was unhappy with the arrangement then he wouldn't do it, would he? It's all a scripted joke. Wouldn't be surprised if Mrs O rears her ugly head at some point in the future. |

To be honest, I have always taken it as a bit of fun and a joke. I am sure Louis doesn't take it seriously.

I don't like Louis but I feel for whoever his acts are....Simon will just attack. Whatever the case last night, Bad Lashes and Girl Band were much better than Hope.

It's just the usual bickering. Louis made the mistake on Xtra Factor of having a pop at Simon about "Girl Thing", when the only girlband Louis ever managed was Girls Aloud and they fired him pretty quickly.

I enjoy the petty bickering sometimes.

I love it, the more the better! It is so funny and anyway I think they are best of buddies really or at least have much respect for one another.

I had assumed Mrs O had to go because she took it beyond the script.

I think that they are both up for it. I don't like it when they drag the acts into it and show little regard for what they are going through.

Louis Walsh is an equally nasty piece of work if you ask me.
He's been unnecessarily vile to acts just as a way of getting at SC. No sympathy. |

There are some dark places in television..... Hi, a lot of dark places, and some people wouldn't want to tread in without wearing a hard hat and weliies where sincerity you won't find. Louis didn't seem to be unhappy about what Si said though as he still sat there and said his bit. Anyone else would have walked away, or just ignored Simon, but Louis couldn't do that. Panto or the dark side? I think it might be the dark side.

Nope, I love it - makes good TV.
If there was really any bad feeling there, it would be evident. Its all pantomime. |
