Just watched the show from last night as i was workin, and omg it is so poor! I acutally dont think anyone was as good as they can be last night.

Poor Scott, why oh why did he get that song, obviously it was terrible!

Eoghan, hahaha it was so middle of the road it was unbelieveable and it ultimately showcased how weak and 'samey' his voice is, like there seems to be absolutely no strength in it at all!

I loved when they kept cutting to Simon during daniels performance, lol hilarious, you could tell simon was thinkin "omg car crash performance" lol.

Rachels "come on everybody" just made her performance so cheap and tacky, glad she got to stay though.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Simon GET RID OF BRIAN FRIEDMAN!!!!!!

He is totally ruining the show for me, it all looks so shit with his imput compared to the way the show was done before he came on the scene.

The show was very very poor up until about the 8th act (Diana) then it started to show some great potential . I hid behind my pillow watching austin/scott.

I and most people will agree with you on Scott, Eoghan and Daniel who were not good at all. Bad Lashes shocked me to as I thought they were quite good leading up to the live shows but they let me down. Poor Rachel is amazing but the song really wasnt for her.

Otherwise I thought the rest gave good to fantastic performances. It certainly wasnt a poor show. Probably the strongest opening night ever.

The girl singers were by far the best, but JLS are rather sexy!

I was lucky enough to go to the studio last night and just have to say not sure what was going on with the broadcast but all of the acts sounded much better in the studio. Rachel was much better than she sounded on tv.

I have to say I disagree with the OP. I thought that on the whole it was an entertaining show and the standard was about what you would expect for the early stages. People are still finding their feet and some of the weaker acts are still to be shaken out.

Overall I think the standard is promising for this year - better than last year certainly.

Whilst I disagree about the show being poor as such - I totally agree about getting rid of Brian Friedman. He adds nothing - and in fact takes something a way from a lot of acts. Most would be better off without him

Eioghan was total rubbish. Such a middle of the road voice. And he was praised so much by the judges! Ridiculous. Scott and Rachel had appalling songs chosen for them.

Was anything said about the audience laughing at deadlock?

I liked Eoghan's performance, I thought he was quite good and will improve with time.

something just wasn't right about last night, i think the sound didn't help, it was very loud backing tracks, and the mic was either to echoey, loud or quiet never just right!!!

I cann't bear the choreographed walking, moving and dancing the poor singers have to endure...and will someone tell XF that the sound was awful for 70% of the acts..never happens on BBC shows!

Whilst I am certainly no oil painting myself I just can not get away from the fact that Eoghan is just the most weirdest kid I have ever seen. He reminds me of someone I work with and she (yes, she) is in her fifties. Same hair, same slitty eyes. She probably sings like him too!

I thought last night's show was fantastic with four or five singers with great potential. Austin, Diana, Laura, The Irish boy whose name I can't pronounce, Rachel. and Alexandra all gave good performances.
