Sorry if this has been posted

New musical drama Britannia High is set to explode onto our television screens this autumn in a whirlwind of stunning dance, sensational music and unforgettable drama.

With original music composed by some of the biggest names in pop including Gary Barlow, Guy Chambers, Steve Mac, Mark Owen and Eliot Kennedy, Britannia High introduces six highly talented lead actors – Sapphire Elia, Georgina Hagen, Rana Roy, Mitch Hewer, Matthew James Thomas and Marcquelle Ward.

Created by acclaimed choreographer Arlene Phillips and theatre impresario David Ian and produced by the drama team in Manchester responsible for Coronation Street, Blue Murder and Mobile, the focus of Britannia High is a contemporary British performing arts school where the super-talented students study hard to achieve their dreams of stardom while learning important lessons about friendship, love and life.

There’s also cameo appearances from some of the UK’s top recording artistes – Girls Aloud and Boyzone plus special guest appearances by Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas, ex-Busted and I’m A Celebrity winner, Matt Willis, EastEnders and Hollyoaks actress Gemma Bissex and comedian Richard Blackwood.

Creative Director of Choreography for Britannia High Arlene Phillips and David Ian are Executive Producers working with the ITV Productions team led by Series Producer and Lead Director Brian Grant, Producer Gareth Philips and Executive Producers Kieran Roberts, Mark Wells and for Globe Productions Anita Land, that spent six months selecting the drama’s performers who sing, dance and act in the fictional performing arts school.

Oh so it's a British updated re-hash of "Fame" then?
Thanks for the heads up - I'll be sure to avoid it .
(Been there, worn the T-shirt in the 80's & have no wish to re-visit a noughties version thanks).

I may give it a go.

I am getting slightly annoyed at the constant advertisements!

But I feel as though it's aimed more at the younger kids.

I see that Rana & Marcquelle ( 2 of the winners, in Bruno's group, from Dance X are in it). The group wasn't successful then, I take it?

I saw them as well but could not remember the show's name. I did think at the time that neither group would last long.

I recognised those names. TBH they were the most talented of the bunch, at least they got something out of it

Oh I see. He seemed to have an incredible CV for musicals and stuff. Bet Arlene Philips will have a field day choreographing for this Adam guy.

Slightly off topic but does anyone remember the girl Chelsea who was in Dance X alongside Rana and Marquelle?...I thought she was great

yea chelsea was a good dancer. Pheonix was also good, didn't like his attitude though..don't think Britannia High would have been his type of thing.

Apparentley Ashley auditioned as well but didn't get through. Marquelle, Rana & Daniel are in it...

It's all about who you know it seems eh!!

I doubt it:

Quote:
“Earlier, the live finale of Britannia High pulled in just 1.27m (6.6%) from 5.30pm - by far the lowest audience of the drama's nine-week run.”

Arlene and Britannia?

One word:

F.L.O.P.

Tried too hard. Too derivative. Same old same old. The characters were all so self-absorbed. Everything's so contrived (watched the first and second episodes and gave up).

Even when I was a teen I never really get those 'teen' movies. And I dislike intensely High School Musical. Don't understand why people can go ga-ga over Zac Efron?

I mean, seriously?
