Simple. Too many bitchy teenagers that are too jealous. Same with that girlband last year whose name escapes me.

Shame really as I think that Girlband are quite a good girl group with strong harmonys. They deserve to do better than I think they will do.

I think girls would vote for girlbands if they were'nt snooty and bitchy, which is how many girlbands are percieved. I would love a cool girlband to come on that werent all blonde and size 0, but lets face it, thats hardly what Simon wants either is it.

Well, let's be honest, the girl bands last night weren't extremely good, but this is nothing new. In all reality shows we have the same problem when viewers vote. The attractive girls are always more hated than they deserve to be and the attractive guys are always more loved than they deserve.

However, not ALL 14 year-old girls vote like that. Just the majority of them.

Your argument is completely flawed because 'Girl Band' are hardly size 0 and to be fair they have attractive curvy feminine figures and they appeared to be quite shy and unassuming and if I'm not mistaken only 1 of the 4 have blonde hair! They performed far better than that lad from butlins and it should have been him and bad lashes in the bottom 2.

How the crowd felt justified to chant the lads name after such a poor performance is anyones guess and that is obviously why Louie and Hollie Willoughby both stated that girls just won't vote for girlbands, no matter how they perform - it should be renamed 'fancy factor' and people could just vote in for the one they would like to have a smooch with! -sigh-

Lmao, I agree. It is so annoying, and happens EVERY year in every Reality TV Show.

I totally agree with you, Girldband appeal more to me because they are not size 0 etc...

No one wins the X Factor on singing alone though, do they.

To be honest, Bad Lashes were not good at all
Girl Band were on first so I really think that was possibly a reason as to why they were in the bottom 2.

Its funny people say this, as I am pretty sure girls, and gay people are the biggest buys of girlband releases (spice girls, girls aloud and co), and generally we all assume the these shows attract a large number of female and gay fans, therefore girlbands should be popular? yet it doesnt seem to work that way, as I think cause the girlbands aren't professional, there is some odd jealously and bitchiness from fans that stop them voting.

Also, it is very hard to connect with a whole group of people, rather than just one solo singer. The audience get to know each solo act very well, but with the groups it is a lot more difficult.

Well as a man, I voted all the way for Leona Lewis to win X-Factor and I don't normally vote on these reality type shows and I don't personally find Leona attractive at all, so I do believe that it should be about talent and presence on stage.

Last night I felt Laura gave the best performance and if I had of voted then it would have been for that lady although again I don't personally find her attractive.

So maybe it is just the girls that can't look beyond looks when making decisions? and they call men shallow!

Have you ever heard the valued phrase of 'a workman doesn't blame his tools'?

Top performers don't blame the song, they get on with it and perform professionally and I apologise for the slip in terms of the name of the holiday camp.

As a foot note, maybe the girl bands also received bad songs for their particular styles too

I could not understand why Louis put two girlbands through to the live stages knowing how difficult it is for them to attract votes and in a year when there are so many really good female singers. This year especially girl groups need to be brilliant to stand out and to quote Simon they looked last night like "look like Girls Aloud rejects".

I would have put the other boyband who made the last six in the live stages and I reckon they would not have been in the bottom two due to the teenage girl vote.

Are you speaking with the views of a female?

To be fair it is probably equally split, although looks should never overtake talent in terms of selection.

In terms of choosing partners, then this shallowness is written into our genes because we are programmed to select people who we believe we can have the healthiest children with, although I don't believe this comes into question when choosing who we wish to go further in programmes such as X-Factor.

Why does somebody's weight make them appeal to you? It screams 'insecurity' and 'jealousy'...

Surely you should judge them on their talent, rather than by how many calories they consume?

I am definitly niether insecure or jealous, and weight has nothing to do with it. I just wanted to express my opinion if I were tovote for a girl group of the same abilities, the ones who represented women as a whole would appeal to me more than the ones who looked like Barbie Dolls.

I dont actually think its a case of the girls being bitchy they just would rather see a cute boy go through over girls and so vote for them, if the majority do the same then the girls will be at the bottom.

I'll give it a guess, maybe the crowd thought that he deserved a second chance after being given such a rubbish song whereas the girlbands were given a fair shot and decent songs and still werent at their best.
