Why did everyone laugh when this happened?

They should have had the effects as soon as Louis voted instead of this break where Dermot explained deadlock and took the drama out of it before they had all these crazy graphics and noises.
It was quite amusing, but I doubt that was the intention. |

That whole "dramatic" deadlock justs smacks of arrogance to me and it fell flat on its (very funny) face - wicked!!

i think in case of "deadlock" they should have a netural judge to pick who goes, they would stir it up

It reminded me of Weakest Link lighting effects. They should have had Anne Robinson sweep on in a black cape and announce: It's time to play SUDDEN DEATH. After all, that's what it really is - your career is over before it began, in the trash can, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye, definitely NOT au revoir.
