Was Scott's performance last night the worst there's ever been on X Factor?

I've seen some truly awful performances on the show, Leon's first performance last year, Eton Road's 'Don't Feel Like Dancing' and quite a few more - but Scott's was really really bad. I felt really sorry for him because he seemed really uncomfortable and nervous. I'm glad he has a chance to redeem himself next week.

So have you seen a worse performance than that?

Yes- the one Leon did last year that was all at the wrong speed and out of tune.

I have conveniently forgotten which song he murdered. But I still think he's the worst winner there's been, and has raised the bar in terms of mediocrity for years to come.

I don't think that it was a bad preformance, just a crap song that he did as well as most could with it. I think that the two you mentioned were worse in that they could have been sung a lot better.

Not as bad as Leona's 'Lady Marmalade'.

I fear that anything he sings will come out Butlinsesque. Goodness knows why he was chosen over Mali or Liam.........

Yes, plenty - it wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad, just the wrong song - but it was a tricky one to sing!

True. Although maybe he was in tune as there was not that much opportunity to be out of tune

OP - Did you never see Addictiv Ladies ? They were dire. Or perhaps the worst was Steve's first attempt when he had laryngitis - very bad

Scott was one of the worst on the night, along with Girlband and Daniel and maybe Rachel.
But I can think of loads of performances in past X Factors that have been worse.

I actually thought Scott did the song well.

He performed well ... the song was not appreciated by the (young) audience perhaps

It was on par with Leon's first ever song on the x factor!

No. It was pretty bad, but wasn't the worst.

Daniel and Rachel's performances were a disaster.

Wasnt Leon's a weird speed-jazz version of "Money cant Buy You Love"?

I thought Dannii had some cheek slagging off Scott's song after choosing that for Leon last year... they were very simialr arrangements.

"Lady Marmalade" wasn't necessarily bad, it just wasn't that great. Pretty average.

Sorry for having an opinion.

It was awful. Finishing note was awful. Showed that Leona couldn't cope outside her comfort zone.

It was too fast for him and you couldn't even hear him half the time... the whole thing didn't work...

Leon's first performance last year was also a bit bad; the arrangement of the song was terrible... however you could hear him. Brian Friedman also f*cked it up by giving him dancers, moves and a load of choreograpy which didn't help. However he more than made up for this in later performances (Leon)

The Unconventionals and Addictiv Ladies performances were also quite bad

Talking of choreography - I watched the show at my mum's yesterday, and during Scott's performance - she kept saying ' There's too many people on the stage - there's too many people'. And I had to agree with her

Leon was worse last year and he has not improved much going by last nights performance, Leon must be the worst winner of x-factor so far or any of the talent competitions to be honest

Spot on with that comment.

It was not the performance that was so bad, in that he can sing reasonably well, but the song choice was appalling, the sound was naff in that he could hardly be heard and the choreography was truly dreadful. The combination was the car wreck that we saw. I still have serious suspicions with Simon - surely at rehearsals it must have been obvious how bad it was. Pushing for the sympathy angle no doubt!

It was awful, but I'm glad he's been given another chance. I would have hated for him to leave after that and seeing him crying was really bad.
