Panasonic E55 Failed Recordings
I've had my Panny E55 DVD recorder for four years. I recorded something onto a 8X DVD-R last week with no problems. I've tried it this morning with the first programme recording fine.
However, when recording a second programme, it records for 30 seconds then automatically shuts down and reboots itself. The menu show this has been recorded. When I try again the same happens but now after 2 seconds. Is the laser on it's last legs or is there a solution? |

probably no mre than the psu failing, well known fault with these. requires a new chip (and possibly some capacitors replacing). cost of parts around £10. problem is well documented at www.avforums.com.

Happened to me, got the parts myself and my local friendly electrical engineer fitted for a couple of bottles of red - been working fine ever since.
