What the hell are Danni and Cheryl.........
doing on a panel whose job it is to give any advice on how to sing!!!
Neither of them can sing a note!! Cheryl, if I remember only just got into Girls Aloud at the last minute and as much I do not like Javine she was robbed not to be picked for the group. And Danni, well what expertise does Danni possess when she couldnt make anything of her own singing career! Louis and Simon have business acumen and actually manage and are very much involved in the business side of the music industry. Also I thought Danni was particularly ungracious in not admitting she was wrong to pick the song she did for Rachel and in her insisting she sing in the face of Rachels discomfort. At least Simon admitted he'd made a mistake. I just do not like the way Danni and Cheryl swan around and try to come across as any kind of expert in the world of music. They're there why?????????? |

Cheryl can sing. She went through auditions, she knows the score.
She should be there over Danni. |

Cheryl and Danni aren't just judges, in truth it's the public who are the judges, they're are also mentors, and as such I think Cheryl's earned her place given her success. Danni's inclusion I find harder to defend.

Dannii Minogue has had quite of bit of success in the music business...
From her wiki: In the UK, she has achieved eleven number one dance singles and Cheryl is part of the best girl group in the UK and probably the most famous girl in that band. |

I think Cheryl has a lot of business acumen and seems so far to be a great judge. I think she is very fair on her comments and knows the business and what sells. |

Where does this myth that Dannii has never had hits come from? Louis Walsh? She is unlucky to have been surpassed by her sister who is by far the weaker singer and least talented all round but was lucky enough to appear on the scene in this country first. |

Cheryl is a part of one of the biggest girl groups in the UK at the moment.
Dannii has had quite a UK few top ten hits as well.

Nine top 10 hits, four of them went top 5 and her highest charting single 'I Begin To Wonder' peaked at #2. She has also had two top 10 albums. Altogether she has had 19 top 40 hits and 14 top 20. Anywaaaay, this argument is really old now! I mean really old! |

Well, who cares if they are not Whitney or Mariah. They both add something to the show.

I can't be bothered to re-ephasise what has already been said by other posters but Dannii did have a decent music career.

Dannii has an amazing voice regardless that she never had a U.K single no 1 or that she had 12 dance no 1's. And as for the both of them not being good enough to judge? They're on the biggest show on TV and 11 million ppl don't seem to mind. |

But not all of Girls Aloud have good singing voices, but what they have is experience of performing on stage. It suggests anyone can be a judge if they have experience, like we have on this forum after watching and hearing singers for years.

They both can sing.
Dannii had succesfull songs a few years back and Cheryl is in the most successful band of this decade so far. So they must be doing something right. |

Based on chart success, Girls Aloud are the most successful girl band in UK chart history, having a total of 18 consecutive top 10 singles.

Every girl last night was praised. That happened in no other category. Cheryl must also be doing something right. but that still doesnt make them the most successful band of the decade which they are not there are 50 odd bands who have sold far more during the past 8 years so such a label as 'girls aloud being the most successful band of the decade' is totally false info all i did was point it out girls aloud have sold 5 million records now compare that to 55 million for the spice girls and 65 million for destiny's child and you get a clear picture of what girl groups were most success regarldess of top ten placings |

To be fair, every single week, we all comment on singers - who was outsanding, who was average, who doesn't deserve to be there, yada yada... - but I would hazard a guess that a lot of us - the general public - aren't very good singers ourselves. It's a bit harsh to then make snide remarks about Dannii and Cheryl for this, considering they have been/are part of the music industry.
I've really like Dannii Minogue as a judge, she gets involved and this year she is really settling in without Sharon there to bring her down. She really connects with her categories and offers constructive criticism. Imo. Cherly is part of one of the most successful girl bands ever, who are still going strong. She knows what it was like on the other side of it - auditioning etc and therefore, as mentioned many times before, can relate to the contestants. This makes her fair. She has worked with the likes of Louis Walsh and such and knows what it's like behind the scenes but from an artist's point of view. Both able to offer different but suitable opinions and advice. Well that's my rant over.

I totally agree with this. They're absolute no marks! Off the top of my head ; Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Bryan Ferry, Morissey and Roger Daltry have more experience and knowledge. I'm disgusted that they aim so low with regards to mentors, give the contestants something to aspire to, not no marks who don't know the first thing about music.
