Have you tried celebrity-branded products?
TelevisionUser

You can't move in the supermarkets these days or see the TV ads without coming across food products that have been endorsed by celebrity chefs and cooks. Antony W-T has even gone on to endorse a range of pots and pans!

I tried some of Jamie Oliver's green pesto this week and it seemed fine enough and I wondered if anyone else had tried any celebrity product and, more to the point, was it any good?

Is Uncle Ben a celebrity?

For sauces I usually go for the distinguished brands such as Uncle Ben's, Sharwoods, Discovery, Ragu & Dolmino.
Saying that I have cut down a lot on buying sauces because I like making my own.

I've got some Lloyd Grossman pasta in at the moment. I didn't buy it because it was his (I don't think!), but just because those bags of pasta that are about 50p for 3kg often taste artificial to me, and I wanted to try paying more for less and seeing if it was nicer. It is.

LLoyd Grossman sauces, they were like the name suggests, gross.

Ainsley Harriott cup a soups aren't great either.

I'm waiting for someone to bring out "Nigella's chuff" sweets, because I'd eat them!

I remember having Ainsley Harriot Cous Cous. It was disgusting, but I put that down to it being Cous Cous

Also, I have a Ken Hom wok

I love Paul Newman Ranch Dressing.

I tried Loyd Grossman soups - and yep, the name was pretty apt - never again

You think Uncle Ben's is distinguished?

Lloyd Grossmans Balti and Jalfrezi curry sauces are pretty damn good if you add some fresh tomatoes to them while cooking and then a bunch of fresh coriander at the end. Honest...

We had two sets of Nigella's mugs, and we were the real mugs.
They break with remarkable ease and I think we've got about two left.

NAH, I LOVE cous cous. Ainsley's tastes salty and artifical though. YUK. Got a free pack with last month's copy of "Delicious" and I threw it out after one spoon full.

We have a whole dinner service of the first one Jamie Oliver endorsed for Royal Worcester. The Vintage Chic one. Apparently it was only ever out for 6 months, so in the end we managed to track it down here, there and everyhwere - but I love it !

Newman's Own salad dressings and pasta sauces are very nice, plus you get an added glow for supporting charity.

We have a set of Nigella utensils (ladles, skimmer, pasta server, etc.). Pretty good, although the enamel on the skimmer has chipped quite a bit in a relatively short space of time.

I remember using Newman's BBQ sauce a few years back but I can't seem to find it now.
It was good because it was not too sweet, almost a bitter twang to it and maybe a hint of bourbon.

I've tried Ainsley Harriet's cous cous and Lloyd Grossman's pasta sauces before. Cous cous was OK but I'm not a fan of it anyway, but I thought the pasta sauce was OK.

I didn't purposely buy them from the endorsement point, just like to try different brands every now and again.

Barry Normans pickled onions. Pickled onions with a kick. I love them.

The Lloyd Grossman sauces I've tried have been quite good, for prepared sauces.

I have a Marco Pierre White pan. Deep sided with lid, I think it's classed as a saute pan - most useful pan I own.

Ainsley Harriot cous cous - usually buy the spice sensation flavour which isn't at all spicy but it tastes quite nice (except for the seeds in it)

Lloyd Grossman sauces are nice-fresh flavours and good quality.

Linda McCartney veggie meals are disgusting. Quorn is much nicer.

Jean-Christophe Novelli brought out a range of delicious restaurant style food with Findus some time ago, they are incredibly tasty, I particularly like the salmon one.

I was buying them in Farmfoods at a greatly reduced price but haven't seem them there lately.
