I was in court on Thursday 9th and saw Peter Johnstone being sentenced to 4months For the horrific act of killing a nephews cat,the story was in the Sun and the Express on Friday confiming this, the accused who pleaded guilty for this was released on Friday on Appeal of his sentence.Can anybody tell me where the justice is in this.Remember this is Scottish law.Anybody Know what happens now,how long will this take,does he go in front of a differant Judge. could he now end up with community service,or as some people are saying he could be worse off and get 6months in prison

Thank goodeness this man was caught!!!! So many kat killers get away with it, this simply would not happen if it was dogs being masacraed on out streets

In regard to the sentence, I would hope he gets a community service.

Wouldn't it make more sense to wait for the outcome of the appeal before releasing him? Otherwise it does seem to be pre-judging the outcome.

They should keep him behind bars, it's where he belongs.

I think you have misunderstood me the accused had pleaded guilty and was sentenced on Thursday to 4months in prison and not allowed to keep animals for 25years,then released on Friday waiting to appeal against his sentence.Remember that it was his next door neighbours cat that he killed, how must they feel, as if the system has let them down.

The waste of skin aka Peter Johnstone and his equally vile wife have been for years threatning to poison cats etc , he even tells people when their dogs bark at them he'll kick f*** out of them ( do dogs sense evil ? ).
He has been parading in front of his neighbours with a big grin on his fat ugly face, knowing fine well if anything is said up pop 2 police officers to cover his back!
Who looks out for the 8 yr child or his parents (who must be feeling incredibly let down by the system) ?
Why is this seen as just a cat ? It was a childs much loved pet !
That he (Peter Johnstone ) decided to kill to get back at it for accidently going in the wrong house !
I'm surely not the only person who's horrifed & confused that someone can do this and look like they're having the last laugh , am i ?
