I have to say I have been suitably unimpressed with the Sugababes since Mutya quit. I can't hear any meaningful differences between their vocals and the sort of stuff Girls Aloud release now.

I am slightly interested to hear the rest of the new album considering they are supposed to be taking a more mature direction. However, I really don't hold out much hope.

In my opinion, the best vocalist they ever had was Siobhan and after that, for me it is Mutya's vocals which gave them their distinctive sound. I don't find anything distinctive about Amelle's vocals whatsoever.

I used to agree with this but now I've come round. For me Mutya was the group. Then when she quit during what was their best ever album. I lost faith in the band for bringing in a replacement for her.

But after a few years I've come round again and I do think Amelle can sing. But I do miss Mutya. It's just took me a long time to accept Amelle yet I fell in love with Heidi straight away.

I'm looking forward to this new album as it's supposed to be their best to date.

It's a shame the band has gone the way they have though.

Just imagine what a force they would have been if it had been, Siobhan, Amelle, Mutya, Keisha and Heidi from the start!

They would have kicked arse as a five piece!

I didn't like Mutya at all, she always seemed to miserable and moody, but i have to admit the group definately lost something when she left.

I do love the Sugababes, but i think they reached their peak a couple of years ago now. Girls is pretty dreadful for their standards! Change was great in places, but most of the songs on it weren't particulary 'Sugababes' - they were just generic popsongs that any old girl group could have sang. Nothing like Freak like Me, Round Round or Ugly!!!

I'll still be buying the album though - i have all their others and they may still suprise me... Fingers crossed

Amelle always sounds like she's got a sore throat me.

I wish to make it clear that I personally am not on some "oh Mutya quit, so now I'm going to spend the rest of my time slagging the Sugababes off" routine. I don't think I said anything in my post to indicate that.

However, as much as I have really tried to like the material from Change, I personally agree with the sentiments expressed by glyn9799 that the material on Change sounded like "generic popsongs that any old girl group could sing." I can't say anything about 'Girls' strikes me as having a distinct Sugababes sound either.

These are just personal opinions. I appreciate that some people may like the material on Change - good for them!

their live performance on Switch the other day from London Aquarium and also their live performance on Live Lounge were both superb. no other girl band can sing that well with just a guitar as backing. Girls Aloud wouldnt even attempt it i wouldnt have thought
