OK people lets get this in perspective
The people who are saying Scotts performance wasn't that bad are clearly lying. I actually quite liked him before that, but no matter how much the hardcore fans try and convince themselves otherwise they have to know deep down how bad it was. It wasn't just the song, a good singer would've been able to turn in something better than that even with such a poor song choice.
People saying Rachels was worse quite clearly just don't like Rachel. I am looking at X-Factor purely objectively and personalities aside there is no way you could seriously say it was worse. Yes the song was a bad choice for her and yes it didnt really showcase what she can do, but at least you could hear her and it was in tune. None of this is a personal attack on anyone, I am just impartially stating what i saw. |

I think we've got enough threads on Scotts performance last night. Im not saying it was good but if you JUST listen to the vocals they really was not that bad.

Why have you started another thread similar to your other one, when there are loads of threads on this topic already?

Beacuse I felt strongly enough about it. It irritates me when shows liek this cease to be about talent and become about who cries.

If he gets a good song next week and isn't very good, then he should go home. But I think he deserves a second chance. |

I dont like Scott- hes rubbish IMO BUT his sound was tampered with, they gave him a big mic to sing with the song choice is terrible etc etc. Lets not forget that every one of the judges would have seen that in rehersal so even the "worst choice ever" was all scripted. The only thing that remains in question was whether it was a stitch up on scott or a double bluff on the audience to vote for one of the weakest singers in the contest. |

I've just posted about this, but what you need to take into account is it wasn't just a poor song choice, he was completely screwed over by the production team.
The microphone was not loud enough, and appeared to be completely flat to me, with practically no effects at all. The song was fast with a lot of words which many would have messed up and it was I suspect a little too low for him. He also had to remember where to be, which girl's cleavage to be looking down, which camera to look at - which he miraculously achieved even though they were making me dizzy. Singing when dancing around is far more difficult than standing still and again he managed that He did really well with what he was given. In my opinion. |

I'm not a fan of Scott. I had to check his name the first time I commented on his preformace. I think he did as much as most singer could with that song. I don't know if he's a good singer or not. I need to heat him singing something that gives him half a chance.

I agree with the OP. Scott's performance was appalling and there is no way you can dress it up. Rachel's performance was quite good considering the poor choice of song, outfit and choreography.

I'm stunned at the arrogance you have to dare to call me a liar because I don't think Scott's performance was that bad. How bizarre that you feel you know my own feelings better than I do. |

Rachels was an easy song to sing which she could easily turn into her own.

So, do you seriously think that rachel or daniel for example would've done better singing that song than Scott?

It was pretty bad, but he was stitched up. He deserves another chance.

I thought Scott did a reasonable job with what he was given. It was a horrifically fast song for him to sing, well out of his usual comfort zone, with a different kind of microphone to what he probably is used to. I would be able to listen to his performance again and enjoy it again, unlike another which I'd have to turn off during now.
I'm glad he was given another chance. Though Rachel did brilliantly with what she was given, it was a simpler song (slower, less key changes) than what Scott was dealt. |

I'm pleased to see him get another chance next week as Simon chose that awful song for him to sing.

And yes, I agree with the OP, it was awful, not only the worst last night, but the worst xfactor performance I have ever seen, regardless of circumstances! And he actually liked the song, and thought he did a great job, until the comments! |
