"Simons, you've never had a successful girlband"
what on earth was that commotion between louie and simon about on saturday night :-S that was completely irrelevant to the decision that needed to made. and if I recall louie initially said no to both bad lashes AND girl band's first audition, if louie is after another successful girl group why did he feel compelled to reject the strongest contenders

Actually after watching the show back both Girl bands are crap and won't and can't be marketed. I don't know why they were put through. Girl bands are dying out and need to be reinvented. Not same old formula's that people are bored of.
I think they picked the wrong choices to go through. |

That comment made no sense whatsoever. Firstly, Simon is not a manager so of course he has never managed a successful girl band. Secondly, Girls Aloud dropped Louis as soon as they could and his only other girl band was Bellefire whose "success" was a few hits in Ireland and and reaching #18 in the UK twice and two albums neither of which were released anywhere other than Japan.

What was the point of his comment?
![]() Simon may never have had a successful girl band, but he's not a manager so of course he hasnt, and secondly, Louis hasnt had a successful girl band either, and he IS a manager. Pot. Kettle. Black methinks

Simon did have 'Girl Thing' on his books but they bombed. I think this was the base for Louis's comment.

Yeah, louis brought up something about that on the Xtra factor after the results show saying that he did had a girl band but failed to release there album.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FDL2g-iocNM But they became a victim of the pop backlash and flopped. I think Girls Aloud actually ripped their style. But don't tell anyone.

I think it was a mistake to put two girl bands through in the first place - people are always going to have problems differentiating between them - I know I certainly did. I think Louis should have put JLS, one girl band and the cute brother and sisters' group through - they would have been brilliant in the Michael Jackson week - they could have covered a Jackson 5 number.

He did, they had 2 singles out. This was their last one. I think the album was released in Japan. That's it!

But don't tell anyone. One of their members was Jodi Albert, who later starred in Hollyoaks and won Sexiest Female at the soap awards and is now married to one of the Westlife guys. Their unreleased album featured a song called "Pure and Simple", which would later be the debut single for reality TV winners Hear'say and sell huge amounts. Louis is trying to form his own girlband just now and co-manage it with the same Westlife guy that is married to Jodi and she is meant to be in it. Simon usually cites them as his biggest failure, even over Steve Brookstein! |

Did anybody watch This Morning... this morning? They had a X-Factor segment in which they said Louis thought Bad Lashes had won the public vote over GirlBand (bad, bad name!) and THAT's why he put it to the public vote instead of saving BadLashes. He thought Bad Lashes were safe, and wanted GirlBand to go!

I completely understand that he was trying to be fair though. Just silly if there is one group you'd rather have over another because then comments like that will make the remaining group feel low. |

Even though neither were very good (IMO), I did feel sorry for both acts, especially when BL were crying
You could see both acts were good friends and I felt this a lot when GB performed "Thats What Friends Are For".

They really were dire weren't they!
I think they should have put 4Instinct through; none of the 3 girl groups were any good, just clones who cannot sing for the lives of them. |

I thought they were OK in the auditions, but they couldn't hack it at Boot Camp or at Louis' house, so it was the right decision not to put them through. Maybe in a couple of year's they could be better. In all honesty, Girlband and Bad Lashes were the best out of a very poor bunch of groups, and it was inevitable that one of them would be in the bottom 2. I actually thought that Girlband performed better on the night. Louis should've had the balls to vote off the ones he honestly thought wouldn't go the distance instead of hoping the public might go with his choice. I really wish he would grow a backbone and stop his nonsense bitching with Simon and personal critiques of the contestants, as he has done each year, and just stop behaving so childishly and, in fact, judge the performances like Simon does. |
