Yeash, it would be fab to get CMT back.

Guess it won't be on cable tho as their dumping of the station was, IMO, a major deathknell in them deciding to pull the plug on their European operation back in 1997/98.

yes i do remenber the time they did that but why though
i no ther is a lot of listeners of country music out there

The cable companies dropped it en masse on almost exactly the same date.

I remember that the company in my area, Bell Cablemedia, that they had more than 600 written letters compalining about the removal of the service. Didn't make any difference however.

Cable companies seemed to hate country music in the way they hate gay channels and, until recently in the case of ntl, disliked travel channels. Odd that they seem to dislike a particular genre of channel isn't it.

NTL disliked travel channels aw comon ive counted nearly 10 channels that ntl have and they have always travel channels and always will but i no most folk hate those and when a lot of people out there i no love country music so y not bring back cmt
ther also now a young following of country music over the last few years some as 8 enjoys the music as ther is so many competions out there for line dancing

This was because that the cable companies used ASTRA as their down link ( they did up here, Telewest) when CMT transfered over.
They had no choice when the owners at that time Gaylord pulled the plug as it were.
