How do you cook Salmon Fillets?

I hope someone can help...

I am going to cook salmon fillets with roasted veg on the side and some kind of sauce (can't remember name)

Only prob is i haven't cooked salmon fillets before and not sure how i should cook them - i don't want them to dry out?

I only have limited ingredients at home available - i.e no lemon/lime.

Any suggestions?

You could just do them in the oven on top of the veg, will take 5-10 minutes, or you could grill them or sear them in a pan. However you do them make sure you don't over cook them as they be dry. Just top with know of butter and season after cooking

As above - searing quickly will work best.

And shell out for a lemon.

Wrap in foil with a knob of butter and grill for 10 minutes. The juices will mix with the butter, keep the salmon lovely and moist and you can use the juices as a sauce - enjoy

Thanks All!

I can't believe i have no lemon - i have no chance to get one now as my local shops don't stock fruit/veg.

Loving the idea of the knob of butter though and may take it a step further and add chili flakes as well!!

I wrap mine in foil, with pepper and lemon or lime slices, and pop in the oven. Doesn't take lon, and they're done lovely and not dried or overcooked.

It might be a bit complicated if you are doing veg at the same time, but I love slow-roast salmon fillets. Cook for 20 min in an oven preheated to 130 C, turning once halfway through. If you don't like your salmon pink, give it an extra 5 min. It comes out incredibly luscious.

Grilling works a treat. Just place on some foil and stick it under a preheated grill skin side up first for about 5-8 mins each side.

Fried in butter, skin side down first until crispy and then flick over and give a couple of mins until browned but still almost raw inside. Just right.

They are lovely BBQ'd on a foil tray as well.
