Story in the Sun!

OASIS motormouth Noel Gallagher slammed X Factor judge Dannii Minogue saying she wouldn’t know talent if it “kicked her up the a***”.

The Britpop godfather, 41, sneered that the ITV1 telly talent show “has absolutely nothing to do with music and everything to do with TV”.

Noel said: “If somebody is dangling this carrot of fame and fortune in front of a checkout girl from Barnsley who can sing like Britney Spears then they’re going to go for it, because they live in a s***hole — no disrespect to Barnsley. But it seems to bring on instant mental illness.”

The rocker — No1 in the album charts with Dig Out Your Soul — reserved his worst venom for Aussie pop star Dannii, 36. He said: “You’re going in at the top with a No 1 that sells 750,000 and you’ve got someone like Dannii Minogue telling you you’re really talented.

“If there’s one person in the room who wouldn’t know talent if it kicked them in the a**e, it’s Dannii Minogue.

“You spend a year slogging around the country and then what? You can’t go back to Barnsley and be a checkout girl ’cos that would look bad.

“So you end up trying to be an actress or sustain your profile by going on celebrity shows.”

He added: “Instead of instant fame, your ex-boyfriends and girlfriends coming out of the cupboard and your family being ripped apart, the prize ought to be, ‘I’ll introduce you to someone who might introduce you to someone who might know a producer who’d record one of your songs’.

“That’s the only way to make money. Otherwise you sell 5million records and earn 50 grand.”

Noel also slated Madonna for working out six hours a day. He said: “What do you do with your hour off?” He told Radio Times that Amy Winehouse’s stumbling 4am trips to the local garage were just “attention seeking”.

And he called Ronnie Wood’s affair with Russian Ekaterina Ivanova “alcoholic madness”.

He says Amy Winehouse is attention seeking, when this whole article is just him trying to get publicity.

Wow what a nasty, vile, common little man. I can't stand him. I hate people who have a go at others they don't even know. And his music is so dull and depressing to. Id rather listen to the Balamory theme tune on repeat one hundred times than have to listen to one of his albums.

Thanks for posting as that article was worth reading ... I challenge anyone to disagree with the underlying message of what this karaoke challenge is all about!

I thought Noel's comments about Dannii were a bit mean, but he is funny and has pretty much captured the essence of what the X Factor and its contemporaries have become. I'd rather hear Noel's opinion than listen to Steve Brookstein tell us all AGAIN that the show's a fix and that Simon is Lucifer incarnate...you're not going to watch it Steve, we get it!

Re; Dannii though, I thought it made her look bad last week when they were announcing next week "For the first time EVER one of the judges (Cheryl) will be taking to the stage..."

Danni performs heavily treated vocals on dance tracks and I doubt she could cut it live.

Will be interesting to see if Girls Aloud actually sing live on Saturday, given their track record of almost always miming
And to be honest Noel is right..............Danni is not really talented.

"So the Oasis single drops like a bomb from No. 3 to No. 16 with not much comment from people. "

Dannii doesn't want to perform when she's mentoring

Yeah but in all fairness he has been more successful than all the X-Factor winners (and runner ups) combined - including Leona - and does know whats what.

He's knows the industry and also knows full well that he will still have a career even if it totally bombs. X-Factor winners do not have that luxury & there is a reason for that (which in a way he is striking at).

Anyway it's not like it's some nobody (Steve Brookstein) that is spouting off, Oasis were one of the most successful bands of the 90's.

There is a lot of truth in what he says and its not a bitter onslaught because he has nothing to be bitter about. He's merely saying what a lot of people in the industry & the public alike think.

I get what he is saying about the mentors; Danni is kinda pointless to be honest (I wouldn't call her a strong talent) and Louis whos only got a couple of successful acts telling you your gonna be a star.

I had to think about this, he was the Welsh lad, the other one was called Shrek. Shrek, Noel, thingy, Mylene and thingy from Corrie.

A man who sold millions of albums and written some great songs is hardly desperate for publicity!
