Hi there, got a flyer through the door the other day from Lidl's, they are offering a DVD HDMI player with other services including memory card readers and USB.
I wonder if this would be good to edit photo's ie, ability to delete before burning to CD, I don't know if it can play HD media. I tried but couldn't find the offer on there website, its a Silvercrest. Does anybody have any opinions as regards this bit of kit? I'm tempted to buy it although I don't fully understand its capability.

Thanks in advance

If it's a DVD player you won't be able to burn anything as it will only play back.

I think the OP is trying to say; insert a memory card with Digital images & delete the ones which are not required prior to printing or burning to a CD? I could be wrong of course!

But obviously if he/she has a PC then why would you want to edit them on this?

Wouldn't be easier to edit with the DVD machine than to set up through PC, I have one but not that good at using it.

Quick answer - NO.

DVD player for playing DVD's or video files from other media (USB stick etc.)

PC for playing with those files (editing, deleting etc.)

Simple as..........

I don't know if it can play HD media.
I very much doubt it.

How much are they selling it for?

There are plenty other VERY good players you can buy for not a lot of money so it'd have to be uber-cheap to make it a good offer .....

I bought this dvd player from Lidl two weeks ago, cost £32.99. HDMI (cable not supplied) but can get one for £4-£6. I have a Sony and a Toshiba DVD player connected to my system, costing many times more and would not hold a candle to the SilverCrest.

Picture and sound playback is great and has a nice display function which comes up in a transparent banner at the bottom of the screen showing all the dvd details.

have not used the card reader function as I use a computer for this. As for value for money 10/10.

Thanks for a positive reply, I think the card reader would be a good addition as it, I think it would be an easier option to use for the household. I'm saying this as I haven't bothered to explore the PC option as yet.
