Leon Jackson - Don't Give Up
Here's Leon's brilliant B side track - I think it should have been the A side personally - thought it deserved a thread of it's own

Beautiful vocals on this song.
The distinctive tone of voice comes over with crystal clarity. Well done Leon. Nice he had a hand in co-writing this one.

I think it really suits his voice and it's a stronger song than the A side - just my opinion. I really love it.

But why support someone who sings flat, can't dance or move and has no charisma and the personality of an illiterate nervous wreck?
I mean it is full OK for you to waste your time supporting anyone you wish to, but how can you explain support for someone so bad? He was dreadful when he won, has done little in a whole year and last Saturday sung a painfully bad song, out of tune and moving like he'd just had a hemorrhoid operation. Why is it that with singers, some people are willing to support them no matter how bad they are. And I mean genuinely bad as in this case, I do know what I am talking about as far as singing goes. So maybe you could explain it to me without saying "It just coz he iz brill, ok, innit" Leon Jackson's career is dead in the water as he is just incapable of doing the job for which he was so wrongly elected. It's just a question of how long this Titanic mistake will take to sink. |

I support people because I like their work. I like Leon's voice. Why do you support people or buy their records? I daresay the same reason that I do.
That is the basic minimum but then we can add some stage presents, being able to move and some personality. All of which Leon has none. So the same question still goes unanswered: Why is it that you "like" singers who sing flat? Genuine question: Is it that you are unable to discern flat singing? - That is not meant as an insult as many people are unable to judge pitch. (They are the ones who sing at karaoke nights and sound dreadful but are blissfully ignorant as to how bad they really are. They are unable to judge pitch and so unable to sing anywhere near to the correct pitch and also have no idea that they are nowhere near to the correct pitch. |

Good track and suits his voice............. the first part is virtually identical to Stevie Wonder`s I Believe, including the piano at the beginning.

Why do you care?
This is a discussion board and we are currently discussing Leon Jackson and whether he should give up, that is what we do here. It IS NOT a fan site for Mr Jackson or anyone else. |

With respect, ML....RS started this thread about specific topic of one song. Just one song. A good song, sung beautifully in tune.

Strangely every single singer I have ever supported in my life and will ever support had/will have one thing in common: THEY CAN SING IN TUNE AND NOW FLAT LIKE LEON HAS ON SO MANY OCCASIONS.
That is the basic minimum but then we can add some stage presents, being able to move and some personality. All of which Leon has none. So the same question still goes unanswered: Why is it that you "like" singers who sing flat? I would really like to hear your unbiased opinion. |

About what? What a silly unconstructive response.

I love this song, probably more than DCTL. It really showcases Leon's voice. The lyrics are beautiful, lovely to see Leon credited as a co-writer!

I liked this - sounds like the kind of thing that would be the key song on a romantic comedy. Can't understand why they didn't release it as a single.

It's great, I'm surprised at quite how good he sings, a real maturity in his voice.

Sorry guys - I genuinely interpreted the thread title as imploring fellow Leon fans not to give up on him.......!
Seriously though - the song in question is not a cover of the Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush track, is it? |
