Are you talking for general blow drying or straightening?

I've just been using Treseme's for blowdrying and straightening. I spray it on when wet, and depending on time add some straightening potion to it. Blow dry, once done spray a little more to straighten.

Its ok, just finished my first bottle now, and its been a while.... My hairs not dry or hay-ish.....

The Lee Stafford poker straight range is excellent, and it smells lovley! I use the heat protection spray when blow drying and using my straightners, and then I use the straightning balm afterwards, just a tiny amount though, it makes your hair really soft, and keeps it in place. The whole range is in bright pink bottles, you get it in boots xx

gum hot stuff

Thermal Protector for ceramic straighteners.

Spray it on to wet hair, it definately gives extra volume though it doesn't mention this on bottle and brilliant for smooth straight hair results. Oh and its only about £3

AND, can you use straighteners whilst your hair is still damp because you sprayed it? Or is the spray strictly for hairdrying? Doesn't your hair "sizzle" if you use straighteners directly on sprayed hair?

Yes, your hair will left off a bit of steam when you use the straighteners after the spray, but it's meant to (I know, I've watched the GHD training DVD )

Always best to use thermal protector spray - I didn't bother in the past and ended up weakening small sections of my hair at the front which then broke off

The GUM spray that i mentioned is for use on wet hair and then you dry it before straightening. It says on bottle to 'completely dry you hair, then go ahead and use your straighteners as usual'.

In a rush, a few times, I have straightened my hair while still damp but the sizzle is a worry and results are never great (less haste more speed)

yeah, even on the treseme site, yes I know - I read it for info....., it said that wet straigtening your hair is a def nono, but when you blowdry and then spray more heat protection the steam it gives off is the potion activating or something, basically its ok, probably not always good though.

I would absolutely agree with this. He has a massive range of products and you would have no problems finding something to suit your hair. Sometimes have 3 for 2 offers on his range too.

And tippy is right - it smells gorgeous!!! Check out my profile pic....it's what I use on my hair!!

Kerastase Ciment Thermique is absolutely brilliant. It's not cheap but it's definitely worth the money.

I have to agree with you on that one. I've used a lot of heat protection sprays for my GHD's, as I read you need to use a really good one as your hair just breaks off

I find the Tresemes spray really light and doesnt weigh your hair down, gives off an amazing shine as well

And smell I love the smell of it...... well of Treseme in general lol......

But one I hate is John Freda (sp) It smells very bad and weighs and makes your hair feeling like hairsprays been put on when you dry it!

There is a good TIGI one, it comes in a long green can. Or GHD do their own spray which also isn't too bad.

Does anyone else think the Lee Stafford stuff smells like angel perfume? I used to wear that years ago and it reminds me of it!

Hi Querty, I can't recomend the stuff I've been talking about enough, I also suffer from dry frizz ball head, due to the blonde highlights though but that really tames it and leaves it emm poker straight
